Its no different than when YouTube or Twitter does it. I paid for Facebook ads once it didn't go as well as I would have expected but I didn't know much about advertising at the time either.
Create great content that people want to see and not content that you want to produce and you will see results. Also that pay for views crap is garbage. This is different. This is not paying for views this is paying to get your video on the top of search engines to relevant searches meaning those viewers can become potential customers in the future rather than a bot who will see your video and not care about it. I would rather make a video about the latest vst pay to put it on the top of search engines and get traffic from people who care about vsts and might subscribe to my channel which will then drive up my revenue from YouTube than to pay for bot views and potentially get my partnership revoked.same with youtube, you can pay 5 digits for 100k views
