Out of the Loop El-P Fan, Needing Suggestions

I'm just now getting into beat making, and I realized I'm stuck in the early 00's in terms of what I listen to. I need some new producers to study, and figure El-Ps production on Cannibal Ox's "Cold Vein" is a good point of reference as far as what interests me. Experimental, ambient, but still hard-hitting. Any suggestions along those lines (or not, open to anything). Really looking to focus on specific producers and get a feel for their sound. Thanks
 
el-p is still putting out stuff, not quite cold vein material but still... check out masai bey's the great crash on youtube too. Fat Jon or Prefuse 73 might be worth a listen
