Opinions on the Novation Impulse 49?

Has anyone here owned or used the Impulse midi controller... I'm thinking about buying one soon.

The "Arp and Roll" feature has me giving it a slight edge over the Axiom.

Do you guys think the Axiom 49 is a better controller?

Do you mean the 2nd generation Axiom? With the screen in the center? I have its 61 key version for 1,5 years and no problems with it so far. One very minor issue is that the faders are not motorized but one shouldn't expect everything from a $400 controller.

I don't have the Impulse but I see quite a lot of people selling theirs here in Hungary.

But the best thing you could do is to give them a try in a music store.
