Old School Timbaland (without Danja)

Brian Kidd did "Ride Or Die Chick" despite what the liner notes say....

lmao you realize he's only been rolling with danja for a few years and at first danja only contributed occasionally and his influence was obviously harder to notice.

nice **** though.

You know what's the closest thing to Old school Timb that he's released recently? Tank's "I Love Them Girls Remix." It doesn't sound as genuine as the tracks above, but it's closer than anything I've heard in a while.

i didnt have the chance to listen to that tank album....
...i gonna check out that track...

Brian Kidd used to work with Timbaland. He did the beat for "Ride Or Die Chick" produced Slum Village's "Disco" Remix and co-produced Floetry's "Say Yes" Remix.

As well as:
Nappy Roots "Country Boyz" and "No Good" (listen to that sample should sound familiar)
Philly's Most Wanted "Dust Ya Boots"
Ruff Ryders "Dirrty"

Most recently he did "Get To Poppin" and "Hustla Balla Gangsta Mack" for Rich Boy and Enrique Iglesias "Do You Know" (Ping Pong Song)

The dude is a BEAST on the boards and highly underrated. Polow has shouted him out as one of his influences and he's currently managed by Zone 4. Don't sleep on Kidd...

Danja plays a huge, HUGE role nowadays. Don't ask him, ask Timbaland. Make no mistake...Tim has had a ton of "help" in the past, but Danja's stamp is so prominent that he can't just brush him under the rug. Plus, while Timbo and "crew" have put a lot of hot tracks on the market, he's never had the level of success he's had over the past two years. I repeat...never. So to pretend that the architect of your current hits is nothing more than a hired hand would be foul.

An observation...it's funny that the kids dis Dre for using (and properly crediting) musicians and other producers. Yet Tim has had an uncredited "team" for years and Just Blaze and others have also made use of other hands, yet those guys get a pass. Again, funny.
Peace

i like old school timbo as well, but damn do i love dirt off ya shoulder! do we call that old or new timb?

I coulda sworn that working with musicians is a key factor in being a PRODUCER.....hell Rick Rubin don't touch an instrument and he's top 3 hands down.

Oh, no doubt, but that's my point. For some reason Dre gets blasted for being an actual producer, but other cats get a pass. However, using a credited team of musicians/co-producers and using "ghost producers" are two totally different things. There are quite a few people who don't understand that.
Peace

thats dope how they made the "All Y'all" video look like a one shot take through out the entire 4 mintues.

When you see "keyboards by scott storch" and "drums by mel man" and "written by jay-z" you start thinking what did dre actually do on the track..

On a side note i find it funny that timbo has a track on his album that he didnt produce or feature on

Timbo back in those days also worked with Hannon Lane a lot, and still does. It's not only Danja now, theres also the Royal Court that works with him, they are the ones that co-produced "ice box" and the 2 timbo tracks on Bobby Valentino's latest album.

Tim's gotten a alot of help over the years ... Missy Elliot ... Raje Shwari ... Hannon Lanes ...Brian Kidd ... Scott Storch ...and now Danja... Who knows who else? . I'm cool with all that cause ....the best songs come from more than one mind, when songs have such a short life span in when it hits the air and producers have to keep coming with hits to remain in the game. I'm fine with all that .... But I don't like it when a producer or musician isn't credited. For a long time I thought Tim was a music god. But he not, he's just like me.... just richer ...LOL. The man knows what he likes to hear. Rock and pop music been doing this for years and hip hop just putting some light on it...
