funny thread

RSE, why don't you get back at your keyboard and practice instead of posting 100 times how serious you are about music?

no offense but I don't get it

Its all about moods and state of mind. I can only do it when I am inspired to or otherwise I don't have the patience and mental focus. The more I get the hang of things, the less stressful on the brains it is.

I understand that, but trust me those moods can be controlled. good luck

The stream fires up your default audio player.

You have to have some webspace, you upload a mp3 to it

Then you make a notepad file with the url of the file in it - but you save it with a .m3u extension

It'll stream the .mp3

The tags I use just add a photo and the photo becomes the link to the .m3u file...

The tag looks like this - I put in x's before the .m3u link and the image link...

Webspace is only $4 a month... I keep all my important ish on it, not just music. If this computer crashes... I'm good.

Who says there's no knowledg on FP!

smh....
I can't believe I read this shi.t.

I can't believe aRSE's beat. Some **** was so panned hard to a channel, that I felt dizzy. I ain't in a position to say who's beats r hot and whose aren't but...damn. Ninja delusional!

Let me just say that theory will not make you end up producing like RSE. Please don't think he represents us theory-learners. He's beat sounded like he learnt theory, then applied it REVERSE to make his ass beat.

LMAO@Big Rome: Hot girl with herpes.

+1 @ 61Key or whoever it was with the Jay Z remix clips. Some of the **** sounded midi (poor sound samples), but the songs that were good were hard.

There's nothing panned hard to a channel? What made you dizzy? What the hell are you even talking about? Bizarre comment...

rome str8 hijacked this thread , damn he posted like 10 remixes he gonna get mad hits to his site 2 , i wouldnt be suprised if RSE hits number 1 tommorow lol THESE TACTICS

That would be highly embarassing...

I already got people hitting me up sometimes asking me why my beats are wack, (thinking that because the layout is so over-the-top that I have been around)

But im like... um, because im a beginner?

and theyre like, oh my bad.

Ive only had my soundclick since December, Ive only been making decently mixed beats and selling for 4 months, and Ive only been learning DAWs and Music from scratch since less than a year ago. I have no real music theory training from my past so its all starting from step 1 for me.

This is FuTURE producers afterall so it makes sense that I am developing. I dunno why people always act like this place should be bursting at the seams with professional level talent.

Beat isn't bad, could be tight. The chord progression and instrument selection is good for the most part.

The choir does sound like its panned hard left, but the reverb bleeds over to the right channel some. Take it back to the right a little more. With this few instruments there's no reason to really have something panned hard one way or the other unless you have something on the other side that offsets it.

The bass is kind of overpowering. You should go through and cut out some frequencies that don't change the sound very much or at all. That way the other instruments don't fight for space with it.

The sound of the organ is nice. I like the switch from longer notes to the short ones in a different pattern.

Drums overall are ok. Might sound better with a good mix. I don't like the sound of the acoustic snare at the end of every other bar. Choose a different snare for that one hit. Your main snare is nice though, I like the breathiness. Sounds kinda like the one from the last beat I posted...hmmm....The kick is weak, with the right mix, eq and maybe some compression you can still get a little thump/punch from your kick without killing the bass. The actual sound of it is good against the bass, but all I hear is the treble part of it.

This beat has potential, but the mix needs a lot of work. You are improving, so its time to cut out some of the BS you do. There's no reason to go to such lengths for views when you don't have the product to back it up. When your music is ready you won't need to cause a ruckus to get views. At this point you're just turning people off with the antics.

Peace!

Bro that is one of the most helpful and detailed reviews I've recieved in a while! All those things I was thinking too. Coming from you it's very "bigger man" of you and I always respect that.

I was thinking the choir is panned too much after listening as well. I actually have a choir panned the other side too but that choir was much softer somehow I gotta go back and balance that.

The kick I was thinking to try to see if anyone likes non traditional kick and snare combos, but I realize it's always an issue if I go outside the kick and snare norm. I understand why now too.

The whole supposed target for enjoyment was supposed to be the organ part on measures 5-8 of the chorus when the groove gets super 8th-note-backbeat-ed out so it's cool you pointed that out.

Overall I learned to not forget about the melody aspect and to not underestimate the necessity for a good kick and snare every single time out.

I'm still trying to figure out what makes the bass corny though. Should it have more bounce?

As for making a hoopla, I actually didn't try to lol. The only extras I put into my post was that second paragraph lol where I had unnecesarily complex paragraph structure, but besides that I've been calling out Rome in threads (only to get pwned without him even trying) once every few months for like a year now. It's like tradition lol.

out of 10 this is a 2

this is one of those songs where you dig it wen ur in the moments making it, then wake up the next morning thinkin... wtf is this!?

movin on, musical theory is not NECESSARY BUT it is a deadly and lethal skill that when added to your musical arsenal will boost your sound a hell of a lot more.

Instead of coming up with excuses to why you DONT need it, why not just go check it out and learn sumthin.. learn to grow

And TRUST ME it helps

no problem with non-traditional drum samples or anything, but in this song, they're simply weak. they don't bring the beat like they should. you could say that it's intented, but I don't think. really sounds like FL samples with a weak listening system.

I haven't listened to other works from you maybe they have better drums.

I listened to the other beats and I'd say this is not a sample issue but some compressing/limiting problem. maybe it's caused by a weak limiter or the wrong way of using the dynamic effects.

Way off on almost all of that.

No such thing as "non-traditional" kick and snare. Acoustic drums can sound great but you have to know how to make them work. Most samples are really flat sounding so you have to layer and/or do some eq work.

The target for enjoyment should be the entire beat/song. There should be some kind of climax, yes, but the whole thing should keep someone's ear. If only one part is meant for enjoyment, especially if its not the intro, people sense that and press "skip/next/eject".

Good kick/snare combo is always a necessity, but that doesn't mean it has to be an 808/clap combo. Different drums are great, but they have to be treated accordingly to sound good in a finished product. Actually your drums/percussion is one of your strong points. Fairly simple, but effective. If you learn to mix well, your drums will bang nicely.

Bass isn't corny, its overpowering. Big difference. You can fix it through learning how to mix and eq properly. It does sound "programmed", as in not a real bass player, but it fits the beat.

I told you no hate on FP, sucka. I don't understand anyone getting mad over some text on a screen that's gone with a push of a button or a power outage. I'm currently doing some real growing up on this side of the screen, and I encourage some to do the same. No need for names.

I still want to battle you on the terms I set forth more than 2 fortnights past...but for real, cut the sh*t out. You obviously know how to get people's attention, and I don't believe you that you didn't mean to stir the pot with this thread either. Read your title nigga.

Yeah I said it.
