I am contemplating the purchase of the Numark Phat Pak which includes 2 TT100 tables and DM1001EX mixer with monitors and a Mic.
This package looks great to me but all my friends spin on Technics (which I cant afford) and they are all shady about what they say about Numark gear because they know I am looking at it. I am used to spinning on their SL1200M3Ds and want to know if the Numark gear will be satisfying to what I want. So could someone let me know what the LD is on these?
Also if I buy the Phat Pak, it doesnt include headphones, I was looking at the Numark Z phones and I like them. Does anyone use them? Or could someone let me know if they are any good?

Thanks a bunch

Welcome to onlineDJ.com :D

if ur used to 1200's then u might not like the tt100's much. they are a bit sluggish whats ur budget for the tts and mixer ?
maybe we can set u up with a better setup
maybe a numark pro tt1 or tt2 ?

I bought the Phat Pak and I like it. The monitors kinda suck so I hooked up up to my stereo. I've been using it since November. The tables aren't too bad but I am looking to upgrade my mixer once I get the $$. You will probably have to get used to the tables since your used to Technics.

Hey, the Phat Pak, in my opinion, is an excellant kit. I purchased this same kit, about 3 months ago and I do have to agree with the other members, that, the mixer has to be the first to go. It is pretty limiting, but, not confusing, so it is easy to get fundamentals down....as for the TT's, blah, blah, everyone jock(s) the SL1200's....they are nice, but, I think I could spend the money a little better.

Take a look at the: Stanton STR8-80's. These are solid....My buddy has some and they don't bullshit, when they say "Skip-proof Tone arm ". There is no "anit-skate" knob....You could throw a beer at the platter while its spinning and it will keep.

...I think the aluminum finish is an excellant touch as well. GOOD LUCK.

Thanks for the advice. I have heard the same about the str8-80s I was looking into them but wasnt sure of the company. Is Stanton highly reputable? Should I go for the Stanton Platinum pack over the Phat Pak?

Thanks again

to tell you truth, who knows? I am sure different people will tell you different things, ie the Techincs "god-like" complex, etc. I would recommend, if have to money to play with, just collect as much info as you can on every table, and then let their stats decide for you.

In my opinion, and if you can afford it, you could certainly waste your money with a much worse table, other than Stanton; I think that they have put out a quality table, with feature(s) the Technics don't have, and their cheaper.

Let me know what you end up getting.

I am going with the stanton pak. The features are great and the price is resonable. I just wish it came with powered monitors so I could listen to my mixes easily. I guess I am going to have to buy a set in addition to the package. I really wish my home stereo had line inputs so I could just jack into it and listen through my home speakers but unfortunately it has no such imputs.
