Nu-Metal dead?

So who else thinks the whole ''Nu-Metal''thing is dead...with bands like The Darkness and Superjoint ritual coming out from the shadows it seems like a good time to grow your hair again(if u havent already,then u should!!)

well if you consider bands like korn nu-metal then no its not dead,
its pathetic how all these people (not implying anyone in particular) and magazines who loved nu-metal and loved the bands and hyped them so much turned on them so quickly when it went out of fashion to like them.,like " i never liked nu-metal".,and if any period of music should be killed in many ways it is the 80's apart from guns and roses,and maybe a flock of seaguls cause he had funky hair.,but whatever.,i think nu-metal served a purpose,it took people who would only have been interested and pop and got them to look to heavier stuff which can only be a good thing.,although it may be responible for evanesance who i hate and want to die a slow and pointy death.,ho hum.,just my opinion anyway.,
 
Both are good points...yes Korn are still kicking but they are the originals,so they will always do what they do which was termed ''Nu-metal''after they came out,it just seems to me like the record labels are less hyped about the genre than they were a couple years ago and there seem to be less new bands coming out with the KoRn style de-tuned guitar and deep bass grooves...i guess most people would agree that the genre is KoRns baby...and if they birthed it they can kill it...anyone else agree?
 
maybe thats they tried to do with Untouchables...but apparently that was a commercial failure,i think its not bad though...not great,but not bad...a bit gothic vocal wise maybe
 
the lyrics in that album sucked hard.,it was all like "my friends are dead they died","gonna take you down".,hella cheesy but i liked the music very cool,quite heavy and groovy.,(note in the 70s sense it actually had groove cant think of a better word to describe it.,)
 
i hope so, because nu is a stupid word. if something was called nude metal i'd check it out
 
yeh maybe, but if the 'nude metal'tag was given to a bunch of dudes...theres no way i'd wanna check it out

i still like NU school metal

i still like that hiphop+techno+metal sound..
i like quarashi, candaria...
i don do rock music anymore but.. i used love it, and was in nu school band little bit...
still good to listen when u r pissed.. hahaha
