thanks everyone, I was introduced to Mac & Beedie at the Pittsburgh Hip-Hop Awards by another artist I produced for, when Mac & Beedie were the group The Ill Spoken
& then I hit him up after he put out the Jukebox mixtape & started sending him music, the first song we did was leaked as a twitter single as part of the build-up for The High Life
second song we did was for The High Life mixtape but its still unreleased, & the 3rd song was used as a Valentine's Day single for Jenesis Magazine, he's worked on a few others but thats the one's that I've heard

and to answer Desmond *A*, I usually only sample from CDs if there ones I have already, I have a pretty big vinyl collection so I don't do much shopping since I been out of college, but every now & then I'll go grab some more if I feel like I need something new
I also sample from wavs/mp3s
 
word up ... I never thought of that beat as single material until the artist came through with that hook, that changed my whole perspective on it ... its definitely a plus having good songwriters on the squad
