Neptunes: Pharrell VS Chad. Who Does What?

this is exactly my point. like i said before, the issue is MUSICAL INTEGRITY.

its not about whos face is put on teeny bop posters, or who is getting hundreds of screaming groupies out his limo after a concert, its about MUSICAL INTEGRITY.

A GRAMMY is the pinnacle of musical achievments (awards wise.) For pharrell to accept it himself, for the media to give it to pharrell alone and not chad, and for pharrell to accept it like he DID ALL THE WORK and not even mention, not even shout out, not even wave, at his partner Chad, is effed up, and i have lost respect for him.

imagine putting in years of hard work in music, and not even getting any recognition for it when you deserve part of that grammy, im sure chad could care less if there are posters of him on girls walls, or if hes on mtv every day, but im sure he was upset that he didn't even get mentioned when the neptunes won producer of the year, and pharrell stood up and accepted it like he did all the work alone.

^^ I couldn't agree with you more on that one. I love neptunes and I rep for Chad cus I'm half asian. Anyway, Pharell doesn't have to make an announcement to the whole world that Chad does most of the stuff sometimes...EVERYONE already knows that so yeah. But the thing is I don't understand why you're so upset about this. Maybe Chad only produces just for the love of music, not the publicity and the money..but hey that's just opinion.

Your post is pure conjecture and speculation. Nobody knows what goes on in the Neptunes sessions except THE NEPTUNES. Everybody else just needs to STFU.


What do each of them do? THEY PRODUCE. They produce great music. And they write some pretty cool sh*t too.

Who cares who does what work. Chad has stated himself NUMEROUS times that he doesn't want to be in the spotlight. He lets Pharrell be the media whore and put the group out there. Chad then sits back and collects the checks.

If Pharrell wasn't the attention whore that he is, this thread wouldn't even be here. Why?? CUZ THEY WOULDN'T BE GETTING ANY WORK.



Remember, they are a team. They've been a team for a long time for a reason. No matter if it's media attention or musical talents, each one of them contributes something to the greater good of the unit.



And those tracks on Kennaonline were okay. But they were clearly missing that Pharrell touch.


They work best as a team. So let them be a team, and stop trying to pit one against the other. Fukkin crabs.
 
This post is very Stanish. Do you stalk the neptunes to know all of this about what they do or dont do? If it was that big an issue between them, chad would have left pharell along time ago.

I was about to post that, until I actually took the time to scan a few posts. But once more, all this bicker about who does what needs to end. STFU, Pharrell and Chad and maybe other people that work closely with them are the ONLY ones who know this. I'm sure if one or the other was so dominant in work schedules, they'd dump the other off quick... but you don't see that happening. Let'em be.

You guys just don't get it. First, nothing is wrong with talkin shyt. This forum wouldn't exist if it weren't for talkin shyt. Get used to it or DON'T RESPOND TO THE THREAD!

Second, imagine if you will (which will be hard for you guys cuz very few of you will get there) your boys get up on stage to get the most respected award in music that you are partially responsible for - and don't even give you a shout out. Try to be indifferent. Would you really ask your boys NOT to mention you? And if you were up there, would you NOT mention your boys, regardless of what they say? Hell nah, and you lyin if you say yes to this too.

None of those songs on that BMI list credited solely to Pharrell are on my top 10 Neptunes list. Not even on my top 100. Hot in Here was the biggest hit on that list, and any of you can do that, if given the chance.
 
i dont understand how this skunk guy does it... lol... he has written this long ass story about how "when the neptunes first met ted riley" on multiple forums....

how do you figure chad hugo made all those tracks ( hot in herre, i jus wanna luv u).... thats some philipino fetish you've got there...

3 reliable sources which describe pharrell and chads roles....

1) neptunes clones dvd
2) scratch magazine interview (issue #2)
3) slim thug in some xxl mag where he talks about being in the studio with them.. and how pharrell starts out with the beat...and chad comes in and finishes it off ( unless slim thugga's involved in this big conspiracy to screw chad..)

note that #1 and #2 are described by your man himself... CHAD HUGO... so unless you can find some reliable proof of andrew coleman saying all this b.s... give it up man... you are wasting your time writing this story... as if convincing 50 fp members is going the change the worlds respect for "chase"

what i heared from ppl who work in their studio on tmf (a belgian variation on mtv) is that chad is the studio nerd, and pharrel the main musical mind and lyric writer and the one who points the directions. He's not a great musician, but knows what will be good and not, and knows the main ting about composing melodies and arrangements. Beats and the technical side is more chad's side.

but i don't know if that's full correct, i've never been in their studio to see it.

Wrong Pharell is a great keyboard player and a great musicians both of them are.. Pharell can acturally write more though....
