Need soul songs for sampling

Hi im a small time producer and im getting alot of requests for soul samples and the songs i have i already sampled them all. I need help finding some good samples for hip hop production. Thanks
 
There are thousands of soul artists. Try going to your local record store and picking up some soul records. Try years 1960s to 1970s. Good luck.

unfortunately most people who have killer untouched records to sample aren't gonna want to share them, definitely start diggin.
 
yea dig them crates i got ALOT of stuff thats been untouched when u start digging more and more you realize there really are hundreds of soul acts that have nice stuff i really didnt realize that till i got deep in the crates u gotta find them tho there not gonna fall in your lap
 
DITC. When you fully understand the art form of hip hop and where it came form djing emceeing graffitti breaking then you can start to understand on how to sample records and even what to look for in the first place.. Start buying records at your local goodwill dollar bin joints and go form there... #80sBabies
 
If you're looking for somewhere to start go here: http://the-breaks.com

Then click on the left on Soul, Funk, R&B. This will give you a huge list of artists. From there you can get an idea of the artists, labels, years, etc. and search around.

http://www.whosampled.com is also another good resource. You can do the same there to get an idea of artists. There are even videos so you can hear and see if it's something like you might want.

Work backwards with both of those sites as well. Look for some of the artists who have sampled that have similar sounds to what you are looking for. Then search for them to see what they've used.

Most of all, like others said you just have to dig. It's tough when people say just dig and you don't know what you're even looking for. I got so frustrated in the beginning when people just kept saying you just need to dig but not even knowing where to begin. As time goes and you keep digging you'll pick up on things and learn more about what you do and don't want. Most of all it's an adventure in itself (for me anyway). Good luck!

Digging from scratch is the best way (in the long run). But being pointed in the direction of samples I don't really fancy myself. As a beginner I would just download and sample which takes away from the "art" of diging if it still exists through the new generation x.

But for those who dig rare or common and spread knowledge is always appreciated.
