Need feedback for first track. Feed for feed!

Finally got around to more or less finishing my first track. Ahpmasphere is the title as it samples Sampha's song 'Indecision' which was posted in Flip This! recently. See it here:

I'm extremely new to most of this and didn't spend too much time mixing so please try and knock me hard so I know what to start working on. I'm assuming, by the visuals of the Soundcloud EQ, my kick and sub bass are too high or clashing? I dunno. And I can't figure what that muddy sound is behind my shaker at around 1:48. It sounds fine in FL. If anyone knows what it is let me know so I can correct it.


I think it needs more and I'll eventually get to I just wanted to get something posted. I'm impressed by what members have been posting already. Future producers f'real. Appreciate any feedback if any given.

The advice I can give you is that Rome wasn't built in a day. What you are doing is creating the blueprint, however. Be hungry, learn, and grow.

Considering this is your first, it is actually decent, the beat does not sound off to me, not the most exciting but that comes as you get better. Maybe change up the drums in some places. Snare is a little weak, add a few layers to it, kick is fine as it is if you ask me. The last minute of the song is actually really nice, those chopped up vocals really work there, start from there and you could make something more exciting. Definitely off to a good start though, keep it up.
