yeaa i like OB4CL better then reasonable doubt.. but then again ima bias Wu-Tang fan lmao..

yea... he obviously didnt feel for Jay.. but didnt wanna say it directly i guess?

Nas has a book coming out Sept 30, it's called "Book of Rhymes" I'll definitely be picking it up. Maybe he will talk about some of this stuff through his point of view

then Pun hit jay in tha head with a bottle, and said **** all yall.

allllllllso...peeps was feelin like Nas was answerin' tha question in "Where I'm From" with tha album title "I Am" refering to tha line where Jay asks: "Whose the best MCs...Biggie, Jay-Z or Nas?..."

dont know about all of that, but thats interesting...

Nas said why he wasn't phuckin' wit Jay-Z back in the day. It was because he was a Bklyn dude. The only reason why he was cool with AZ was because he was already runnung with AZ, and he used to hang in Queensbridge wit' him and they would battle dudes around the city.

Take it back...Mid 90's and Nas wanted to be the K.O.N.Y. He was praised as the 2nd coming of Rakim, the greatest rapper to speak in a long time, the dude that was gonna show niggas how to rhyme, and be vivid with ghetto stories. Wu-Tang had already dropped and was re-ing up on the solo releases, Biggie really came outta nowhere (his debut album was nowhere near as anticipated as Illmatic) and blew up, and because of record sales/exposure, people were sayin' this Bklyn dude is now K.O.N.Y. Nas/Wu/Mobb form a lil alliance (see Shark Niggaz/Verbal Intercourse/Eye For An Eye/Right Back At You), and Biggie forms an alliance wit' Jay-Z. Nas dropped It Was Written and sent a subbie shot at Biggie with the line..."So let me let y'all niggas know one thing/There's one life one love so there can only be one king"

After IWW dropped it was announced that Nas/AZ/Foxy/Mega would make up The Firm. Biggie, not to be outdone, decided to make The Commission with Biggie/Jay-Z/Charlie Baltimore/Cam'Ron. Jay drops Reasonable Doubt and reaches out to Nas but Nas is not trying to help other rappers outside of his alliances, and especially a Bk dude who is gettin' down wit' Biggie. Biggie records Life After Death and throws subbies on "Kick In The Door" at Raekwon/Ghostface

(This goes out for those that choose to use
Disrespectful views on the King of NY
F*ck that, why try, throw bleach in your eye
Now ya Braille in it, stash that light sh*t, or scalin it
)

& Nas

(Ain't no other kings in this rap thing
They siblings, nothing but my chil'ren
One shot, they disappearin'
Its ill when, MC's used to be on cruddy sh*t
Took home, Ready to Die, listened, studied sh*t
Now they on some money sh*t, successful out the blue
They light weight, fragilly, my nine milly
make the white shake, thats why my money never funny
And you still recoupin, stupid
)

As far as the "showed you ya first tec on tour wit' Large Professor" line, the story is Jay-Z was on tour wit' Jaz, and Nas was on tour wit Xtra P and they were backstage and Nas had some beef/trouble with somebody and Jay-Z had his back and let him hold the Tec-9 to hold himself down.

There was never nothing serious (at least not yet) between Nas & Biggie, just a few competitive subbies.

ight let me break it down with you.. wit a lil outside info

Nas was madd cool wit Wu-Tang Clan.. Mainly Raekwon and Ghost.. now Ghost, Raekwon and i think THe RZA had a lot of problems wit Biggie Smalls.. mainly because they called him a biter, sayin that Biggie bit off of Nas' album cover nd was jockin a lot of Wu-Tang Slang..

so they all had there problems.. like Nas stated in one song.. "Who u thought Kick In The Door was for".. so Kick in The Door was a song about Nas, and there was another song about Nas.. in which they were makin fun of him and Wu-Tang thru "The Madd Rapper" character..

but anyways back to Jay-Z

basically Jay-Z was putting out Reasonable Doubt about a year or 2 after Illmatic came out.. and he sample Nas' vocals from The World Is Yous..

now at first they wanted Nas on the song as a feature, but being that Biggie was Jay's boy, Nas never showed up to any of the scheduled recording sessions.. he was basically dogging Jay-Z & Jaz, along with Ski (the producer), Clark Kent, & Irv Gotti..

so ever since then.. there was a rift between Nas and Jay-Z's so called "friendship"

then.. B.I.G. died.. and this whole war for whose the best NY rapper came about..

nd Jay-Z was talkin like him, Nas & Big were the best from NY.. nd Nas didnt even consider him compition.. thats how it all escalated..

then they started bringin in past troubles and baby mommas into the situation
Not sure if anyone added on, didn't read the whole thread, but after Nas turned down the opportunity to do the hook to dead prez, jay sampled it and got it cleared by MC Search who was in the process of parting ways with Nas, Search withheld rights to material as part of their seperation. Because of that Nas wasn't even paid for the hook correctly(if at all) and felt Jay intentionally jerked him as an @zzhole move.

There were alot of times they bumped into each other and were civil, even sat down for drinks, but never really f**ked with each other. I remember RZA did a song on B.I.G.'s album, but at the same time remember when I was touring with Rae, he kicked someone off his tour bus for saying Jay was nice. Then Ghost and Cappa showed up for the shoot of "Put Ya Hands up" where Jay's verse subliminally targeted Nas. Lol. It was an off and on type beef no one wanted to acknowlege it exsisted. Even the Lox got involved somehow, NY was seperated, but no on came out and just set it off, then Nas found out Jay was f**king his baby mama...Then they dropped the bomb. Afterwards came pestilence and plague, you know the rest.

wow, I didn't know that actually happened, I thought it was just exaggerated. But if Jay-Z had his back then, wouldn't Nas have some good feeling toward the man?

yea i heard Ghostface broke Ma$e's jaw at some nightclub

which is why kanye said "if u could feel how my face felt, u would kno how Ma$e felt"

Wu-Tang vs. Bad Boy had to have been on of my favorite rap feuds of all time..

It wasn't Ghostface, it was a dude out of Ghostface's entourage named Hasheem(sp), he ain't just punch Mase he whippppppppppppeeeeed MAAAAA$$$$EEEE'SSSSS AAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSS!!!!!! lol. Mase was all bloody you couldn't even tell who he was it was so much blood, probably needed stitches, his whole t-shirt was drenched in blood. Ma$e hopped up like he didn't care tho, and left with some model chick.

I seen alot with these eyes, lol. Strange that got brought up unless there was another incident you're referring to.

Ghostface talked about it on "Malcolm" off the Supreme Clientele album. I didn't know whether he said Hashaam or "Yo I cham punched Mase in his face over some bull**** The other night they kidnapped his brother pokin it with knives" but there it is.

They talk about it on the Wu-Tang forums but I didn't read it.

It was Hasheem. I never got that song tho. Maybe he used metaphors, but no guns came out, no drug deal gone bad, no kidnapping, dudes was just drunk tripping and stupid sh*t popped off. You know the random dudes you keep around you don't understand music politics, so you say "f**k that clown" to your crew and before you know it somebody ready to take it further. I think Ghost even made amends(won't say apologized, but had words to confirm he didn't order dude to do that)before Mase left.

Damn thats a stupid as nicca from gettin up after getting beat so bad youre not recognizable and drenched in blood, and leave with some bytches, or in mase's case a tranvestidike, or lil boy or whatever he likes.

And where you there when it happened????

I was outside, if I didn't want fresh air I would've seen it all. I seen Mase leave in all the commotion and I was filled in to what happened by one of my peoples who was there with Ghost. Ol' Dirty's brother from Brooklyn Zoo. But it takes more than 1 punch to leave your face covered in blood. It was a spot in Manhattan, summertime 98 or 99' whenever Ma$e's 1st solo was at it's peak. Dude walked up to Mase said some words, Mase laughed it off, the dude hit him with a Combo and a buncha people jumped between them. I'm not from NY but when I was deep into music I visited alot, wish I could fill you in more.

From Kick in the Door:

"This goes out to you
This goes out to you, and you, and you, and you" does this count Nas and all the members of the Wu-Tang Clan that Big wasn't down with?

Nas and Big didn't really have beef did they? it was more so just competitive jabs at each other from my knowledge?

"One shot, they disappearin
Its ill when, mcs used to be on cruddy ****
Took home, ready to die, listened, studied ****
Now they on some money ****, successful out the blue"

Referring to Nas changing his style from Illmatic to It was written.

"Was told in shootouts, stay low, and keep firin
Keep extra clips for extra ****
Whos next to flip, on that cat with that grip on rap
The mo shady, tell em!, frankie baby"

Referring to Nas' song "shootouts" where the character's name is Frank
