Hi guys,
I need some advice on this mod idea for the MPD18.
I've been using an MPD18 to trigger samples and tracks live on stage with rock band. It's been working great for over a year of touring, but as our sampler rack sits offstage we have been using a USB repeater cable (10m length in total). Overtime this has been degrading and we're having launch and stop issues.
A shame the MPD18 doesn't have a midi out as a long MIDI cable would be much safer than a long USB one.
Any ideas if it's possible / how difficult it would be to mod the unit to add a midi out?
We've looked at upgrading to a MPD26 or even downgrading to an MPD16 as they have proper midi outs, but the unit sizes are much much bigger which means re-casing and more weight !!!
Any thoughts?
