I recently deleted my OS disk, by accident of course, and after downloading the 1.72 version from akaipro I get the message "No system file"!! Can anyone help me with this it is driving me crazy?!!

Still no joy! I have unzipped the file and I have tried the OS 1.72 from forat.com. The mpc begins very shortly to load the OS 1.72 and soon says again "No system file". If anyone has any ideas I would be eternally grateful!

Okay you are doing what I did.

Put a floppy in your comp's A: drive. Then open the zipped file:

There are 4 indiv. files (1 is adobe acrobat, don't worry bout that one-) You gotta open the os maker(2) //drop the system file, (3) drop the exe file (4).

DROP ALL 2 FILES EXCEPT THE ADOBE ONE INTO THE DISK IN THE A: DRIVE.

what I failed to do was drop the exe file which looks like a piece of paper-it's needed also. It should load up now. If not-PM me-I'll give you my address-mail me 1 dollar and I'll send you the OS.

Cheers bhardman,
I found the .sys file I needed. At first I was just copying the unzipped file to the disk, but then found the specific system file I needed in the classic version of winzip. I thought I had a major problem there (phew)!

Cheers again!
