So as it seems this 'sequencers/samplers' forum is just full of MPC addicts, I thought I might post an inquiry regarding my newly purchased 2nd hand MPC 500.
After just purchasing it, I decided it would be a good idea to re-format the media card so it can be fresh with all the space I would need. I did just this, then partitioned (1) the card and stuck it back in the mpc with the latest .bin driver file on it hoping to upgrade to MPC's firmware, following the instructions provided on the Akai's site. But now I put the media card in the MPC, connect it to my computer, make sure it says 'connected', and no driver come up. Im on mac. Wat do?
