MPC 2000XL to Triton program control parameters

Whassup people. I just got off the phone with AKAI tryna figure out how I can be able to make the MPC remember what soundbank and program I used for song "X" and he gave me the break down and then I hung up, but something is wrong. I ain't getting the banks I should be getting as far as when I set up the MPC MSB and LSB and Program change numbers. I am getting different sounds then what I want. the AKAI guy must have gave me the wrong numbers. He say since the Triton was popular then he knew off hand what the program assignment was, but I dont think so. Does anyone know what I am talking about and can you help me out and hook a brotha up? Thanks!
 
The best way is to just do a midi exclusive dump into the MPC when you are done with the track.

But it's a hell of a lot faster to just enter the name of the patch you're using into the 'Track' field on the MPC and manualy select the patches on the Triton.
 
I just called the guy at Korg and he is going to mail me a list of the program parameters that should be entered into the MPC for this to happen. Soon as I get it I will write the directions down and post the list on this thread and I hope it can be useful to us MPC---->Triton users as well as just any MPC user period.

I wasn't sure if I could insert a file to this site so here I go.

In you MPC 2000XL(not sure if this is the same for other MPC models) select the track that is being used as a midi track. Then from there press f1:STEP. Next make sure you are located and the very beginning of the of the song. Then press f4:insert. The "insert event" window then pops up. using the wheel on the MPC choose "control change" ok. A new event has been inserted. Leave it to BANK SEL MSB (or according to the KORG chart below CONTROLLER 0)
Next press the insert tab again and choose control change again. Now here, you tab over to that BANK SEL MSB and use the wheel and change it to BANK SEL LSB (or according to the KORG chart below CONTROLLER 32) Next press insert one more time and use the wheel and choose PROGRAM CHANGE. Now use the chart below to enter in the values on you MPC according to which KORG product you are using. Keep in mind, down there I use a Triton Studio so when is say program 0-127 then on you MPC it's actually 1-128. After you have entered in these values, go to your MPC and press PLAY START. U should then here the sound that you want your KORG product to play sequenced thru your MPC. After you apply all these setting to each MIDI track, save the sequence in you MPC and when you load it back up then it should automatically locate the programs in your KORG product. Bank Change Messages For Korg Products

Most sequencers have an event edit mode, which allows inputting controller messages. Bank change messages require these events: Beat one, tick one: Controller 0 with its value - Beat one, tick two: Controller 32 with its value - Beat one, tick three: Program change. Make sure that Program Change and Exclusive filters are set to enable (ENA) to receive these commands. Note: These listing covers all possible bank changes in the product lines specified for each chart. Since some models don't have all of the mentioned banks, some messages will not be received.

No doubt. I'm always down to share the wealth. Only thing I might need ask them cats is how I can do the same thing with the insert FX on the Triton ya know.
