mpc 1000 screen is blank! help please

I have a black mpc 1000 fairly new with the 128mb ram upgrade its the akai ram and all that and jjos free...
anyway its been working awesome love it death and then tonight Im doing a little chopping and the screen goes blank. I did the whole stop+erase or whatever to reboot the akai os and everything still works on the mp I mean I can trigger the factory drums and I even recorded something off a record from my deck but the screen is just blank...
I need some advice on what to do so please help me out if anyone know anything

Did you try o raise the screen contrast? Have to look in the manual as i dont have a 1k anymore but the screen contrast might be turned all the way down????

this happened to me when i first got mine and almost sent it out to get fixed but then i called bruce forat and em and they helped me out for mine i just had to hold stop and turn the data wheel.
