Moving from production to performing live

So Ive been working with an MC for about a year now and we have been making tracks like crazy, we have a 13 track LP and a 9 track EP done, but we dont have much live experience. Being that I produce and don't "DJ" per say (I use FL and an MPD24, no turntables) I dont really know where to start in terms of running a live set. I just want to be able to transition from song to song smoothly and throw in some 808s and extra samples, not too worried about scratching just yet. I was considering Traktor, will it do what I need, or what exactly will I need to accomplish this.

We are pretty straightforward Hip-Hop
I'm fairly broke but willing to shell out up to $500 to get the ball rolling (unless that is unrealistic)

Ableton Live would be my first choice. You can probably do what you want in Traktor if you utilize all 4 decks.
