Rhodes is definitely really soulful...

well basically it will come down to "which instrument has the most control/expression" . For example, a human voice can be real soulful because the performer has complete control of it . On piano, you can basically just choose , which notes and how hard to hit them, you cant do vibrato , portamento , or crescendo on the piano (but you can with an organ, and a saxaphone, so be prepared to get them alot in this thread). But i will still have to go with the piano , for the most part
Sax, Guitar, Piano...
listen to Con Funk Shun's "Spirit Of Love" and don't try and tell me that piano ain't soulful..
Understood....I wasn't saying your opinion was wrong or anything. Sorry for the confusion. I was trying to get an understanding of which instrument in particular in the string section.
"Change Gon Come" is an amazing song. Which version is your favorite Kyng? My favorite is the Allman Brothers'
^^Truesaxophone, esp. soprano, guitar, yea, but more of a bass...and trumpet, but soul is more of a feeling....cuz you can use all these instruments and its nowhere near soulful lol
