Marketing and Promotion techniques and strategies

I've found it necessary to have specific goals for my marketing campaigns to work. In the past, I would just go through the motions of making beats and letting my friends hear and that would be the extent of my campaigns, lol. Music ,also, was a hobby for me at that time, so those results were acceptable at the time.

Now, this is a full time gig and it has become essential for me to get results. There are people out there that like my instrumentals and they express interest in working with me, but i need more results. I've printed flyers, designed a website, entered contests, started networking with other professionals, etc.

I would like to know how some of you guy's approach marketing and promoting yourselves and what get you the best results. Do you work with a group of people or are you a one man/woman show? How long does it take for you to see results from your efforts and how do you gadge those results? How much time do you spend in this area of business?

Any insight would help.

One man show here, It starts with the friends. They're the ones that'll actually work for you, like a built in street team. Everyone to yours to your friends and families friends are your "audience". Use them to promote and spread you. I'm primarily a artist but as a producer, your friends are still the ones that'll primarily be spreading the word. Everything else is putting in work with artists, putting out your own product.

listen to Control. that is the first record going off of their album produced by Ju Bangarang all the rest are soundclick tracks they have played around with. got one more record coming from Ju so I'm still scouting production. we make moves look us up in media base if you have the ability. we get a good deals of spins on a syndicated radio blanketing 3 unocnnected states they loves us.
