We are working on a series of articles around the iPad and music making. There are lots of options and apps out there and we are trying to make some sense of it all.

So here is the first one, which basically tries to answer what place if any does an iPad have in music making, and should you get one?

Nice article. I hadn't thought about the connector issues that have arose with new versions (apple and its monopoly tendencies). I assume some of the other articles in the series will address DAW apps and what not, but that seems to be one of the areas the DAWs moving toward. I know cubase just released an app within the past few months (previously it was just a third party) that basically allows the ipad to work like a big remote.
Anyway nice read, i look forward to rest of the series.
