Multitimbral keyboard with mpc 2000xl

the analog outputs into whatever you are using for recording

no i mean i want it setup to record sequences from the keyboard through the mpc 2000xl. isnt it able to record up to 16 different patches simultaneously if the keyboard is "multicultural"?

the term is multitimbral and thats not really a strong point of the mpc. some people record their keyboard audio into the mpc but most just use it as a midi sequencer/drummachine/sampler. U would have to play your parts into the mpc live or sequence it on the keyboard and then sample it into the mpc but you could do it. IMO I just don't see the point

yeah i meant to say multitimbral. i want to use the mpc to record my drum sequences and also utilize the mpc as a midi sequencer to sequence several layers of keyboard patches at once from one keyboard. for instance a roland fantom, motif, or triton.

Use the MPC to sequence your workstation and then track it out to your DAW.

^it really depends on the keyboard. every workstation has a different multitimbral mode but you are going to have to read the manual to find out how it works on each workstation.
