Sup fellas just wanted your opnions on this dude and maybe some of his best works. I havn't heard him all but i think hes amazing. My only problem with him is how much he god damn teases his audience with the crazy samples. I wanna hear those in loop lol

perfect example is the song jingle lion.

dude has CRAZY ear and diggin skills... but peronally im not feeling most of his work. im might get flamed for saying that. but thats just me and my honest opinion. im all about creative beats and chopping. most of madlibs beats ive heard have been a simple loop (that sounds good tho) with a dope ass drums. but still one of my favorite hiphop beats is "misled" by dudley perkins produced by madlib.

if anyone can recommend some madlib beats where he goes creative with the sample let me know. i need to hear... i wanna know more about madlib. i DO appreciate his work. its just not my cup of tea.

I love everything he's done w/ Doom. Can't say i've heard much else from him.

madlib, quasimoto, madvillin, flyamsam, and the list of aliases and 'different' production styles, google that, or utube it

did "jaylib" only contain dilla beats? champion sound is sooooooo dope. the red, stars, raw shit, nasty mcfilth, official..... whole album is classic.

FLYamSam is Flying Lotus x Samiyam, two different dudes.

He's making a crap load of music this year he's already dropped some stuff but i can't keep up.

Beat Konducta vol 1 and 2 is fantastic.

Another thing i don't like about him is all his retro chops and semi-beats. theres so many. I love when he doing rasta music i wish i could of heard him and bob marley. did he ever work with damien>?

what do you mean retro chops and semi beats ?

Give me an example.

yeah, i dont understand what retro chops and semi-beats mean.....

the quasimoto projects is my shit. "if i could i'd buy records everyday of the week/but then i'd have no money for when i'm with my freak".

yeah i can see why some don't really feel a good body of his work cus it tends to get too abstract and what not. It's amazing that he's doing that "album of the month" thing, but then again a lot of those tracks you have to realize not everyone will be feelin unless you're really into the whole crate diggin' culture and even then there'll be dudes that just can't understand it.

If you've heard all the stuff madlib samples to even know how it was chopped then well done you!

What I like about Madlib is he doesn't care what anyone thinks, he does what he feels (music wise) and I respect him for that....he doesn't jump on the bandwagon he does what feels right to him.

Madlib is def. one of my favorite producers for the straight fact, that he does his own shyt and has such a wide variety of beats.
He's so creative. And to the earlier question about the Jaylib album, when Dilla raps it's a Madlib beat. When Madlib raps it's a Dilla beat.

Everythin' from Lootpack to Quasimoto, Madvillain to Jaylib, Beat Konducta to The Medicine Show... He's got mad potential. His brother Oh No is definetly also the shyt, but his work isn't as "spacious?" as Madlib's. Oh No is more straight on hip-hop.

Dilla and Madlib are the 2 best producers for me. No doubt.

i thought Flying Lotus was madlib 4 sum reason, my bad

when dilla spat, it was on madlib beats, when madlib spat, it was on dilla beats...but what i like on that ish is how lib had a mad influence on dilla's style, how the whole thing goes frm half dark and distorted to three quarters by the end

its like he eq's his beats so that they sound like 1940-1950 jazz and frank sinatra style music...think hip hop funk and orchestra meets crappy tweeters

sumtime he archies this by stretchin samples (or at least is a way i found by mistake to almost replicate that ish)

then he has these distorted basslines that sound like they are filtered from the sample while sounding like they where played on keys...

who ever mixes his songs is the man, Think the soul music track on liberation and track 18 of sum mf doom is, I Get High...

check the signature!

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

that is absract...but the sound has mad potential...if u sequence like this is not ur first beat, then maybe...i hate that reverb on ur snare...try delay with the bpm set to max...u get a similar effect without all the squeek

ur analog saw game is on point man. the beat still sound novice though and empty, the synth buzz bass does no fill anythin up

THE SINGING...bullsh*t...auto tune :smokinFP: that ish (not tpain)

LOVE UR KICKS AND UR DISTORTED CYMBALS...NICE

otherwise
