The song "Somethin' About You" by Rostrum Records teen sensation Mac Miller is now featured on the PMP Worldwide front page music player ( www.pmpworldwide.com #425577).

"Somethin' About You" was the Mac Miller x Jenesis Magazine 2010 Valentine's Day single & was produced by FP's own producer James Moore (aka "MrJames851"), who has also produced FP Member Fokis' 2nd single/video "Where Were You?" feat. Cons & CHi-iLL ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SMZeoKFY2ak ), Beedie's lead single/video "Grown Shit" ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=igWSGJvd168 ) as well as more music for Mac Miller and other Pittsburgh artists.

Did you even watch the entire video? He clearly responded to their emails MONTHS before they confronted him at the show and said he would give them their credits, and didn't. He even said in the video "I didn't get any emails" and they clearly show, near the END of the video via his replies in their Gmail inbox, that he had responded to them more than once saying "Lol, you'll get your credits, etc."

You probably should have watched the whole thing before you made a complete ass out of yourself.

How do you know it was him on the other end of the email??

The truth is, you don't.

Regardless, this isn't how you confront somebody regarding these matters.

It makes you and your organization look bad.

If you can learn anything from that video its to not be like that ever regarding business.

yo just upload the song @ james moore

its impossible to find in the pmp list lol.

its like 100 songs, and they all numbers and shit.

They show his email address and say it in the video. They even say to search it on twitter, myspace, etc. and it all points to.. Mac Miller.

I wasn't saying what they did was right, it definitely was the wrong thing to do, but the kid definitely jerked them on their credits. I have no respect for artists that do that. He's not the only one putting in work, and he should respect the fact that people want what technically, what they're due. They didn't want money, all they wanted was their credits on a youtube video that had 250,000 hits and he denied them that.

P.S. I don't need a lesson in business ethics, I own an MBA from NYU, and I handle my business in the industry just fine.

Lol I meant no disrespect towards you, as I said, that's a great look. I just don't like the kid :P.

Yeah, i remember this sh*t. Them producers, and i use that term lightly, were wrong for that one. Let me get this straight, you sent me a beat because I'm hot, I used your sh*t, and you're pissed because i didn't give you "youtube" credit??? F*ck outta here. Gotta hand it to dude, he was alot more civil then i would have been.

This is the problem with people trying to "get put on". You put yourself in the position of getting your feelings hurt.

In a sea of producers saying "listen to my music, tell me what you think", its very easy to categorized as an amateur if you blindly submit your music and just ask for credits.

Considering the current state of the industry I think a wiser approach might be for one to work on his/her craft until it sounds undeniably amazing, and then once you are @ that point, if you're truly on your hustle, you should have a gang of material in circulation as well as people "checkin for you", so then when you do find yourself in a position to work with a "major" player (I use that term lightly) you are in a better position for negotiation.
