Hi all,

I have a feeling that a lot of us could benefit from developing a better understanding of M-Audio's Enigma editor/librarian software. Enigma is the FREE software you use to edit patches on your M-Audio MIDI controller (Axiom, Trigger Finger, Oxygen V2, MK series, etc).

Anyway, here's the link:

http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/M-Audio_Enigma/

I've posted some tutorials, and we should be adding more files soon. Stop by if you own an M-Audio or Evolution MIDI controller that is supported by Enigma.

Learning to play piano on a controller with unweighted keys can be tough, but if you just want to learn chords and whatnot, a keyboard with unweighted or semi-weighted keys (like all the keyboards you mentioned above) is fine.

To me, the Axiom feels the most substantial of all those you mentioned. . . Axioms are built like a tank. I also really like the key-feel on the Oxygen v2 series. . . if you can live without the drum pads, Oxygen v2 series is a good choice. If you think you'd use the drum pads, go with the Axiom. . .you won't find a better-built keyboard in that size-class. . the Axioms are damn tough and feel really nice. . . just don't expect to hold an Axiom 49 or 61 in your lap, they're a bit on the heavy side.

Resetting his Axiom (by holding down the + and - keys while powering up) fixed the weirdness.

Now we're exploring the new Reason remote/mapping files provided by M-Audio.
