i know what your saying, but its simply not there, it has the Oxygen 8, keystation ect... just not the axiom!
can you or anyone else maybe upload the keymapping file, its located at;
Propellerhead Software/Remote/Maps/M-Audio
or atleast on macs, its a .remotemap file, so if not, search for that, much appreciated if you can peoples!
p.s. 61 key version! thanks again

I got it wrong you need to do this

M-Audio - Basic - w. Controller

then press the key ect... and then it will work, it does'nt have the axiom as it is new and the reason 3 as been out months before.

Select M-audio-- midi keyboard w/ controls then select the Axiom as midi input like already said. If you have the Axiom 25, someone from the reason forums wrote a mapping file, its at http://idisk.mac.com/leroy.campbell-Public?view=web
if that link doesnt work goto propellerhead site and seach "axiom 25 codec" in the Propellerhead user forum. If none of this works and u have and axiom 49, return it and get a working one like i did. :D

i too am having a tough time mapping out the notes and getting everything recorded. can anyone help with that?

c17 from Axiom is not working !!!

hello !
I have a problem with pad c17 from axiom 25 . Althought it sends midi signal (midi input from reason lightens up) , i cannot change the cc ..
so , here's what i do :
i press the c 17 pad, then > Advanced > ctrl assign> data 1 ( but the little musical note that should appear on the lcd , near the "midi " sign, doesn't appear! - on the other touchpads it appears, but not on the tab c17 ....
the data 1 key is working ( it sends midi signal while playing) , and so does the c 17 , but it controls the send 1 from control 9 , in redrum, and it won't change ....
the problem is that , when i press data 1 after " ctrl assign" , nothing happens.
does anyone have a solution for this ??

personally i could use some help getting the pads to work with ableton.
i've tried with tech support and all to no avail. anybody got a download for this? all the othe controls drop just fine, the pads get nada. the keys play the drums. what's the deal.

Drum Pads

Whats up,

I just got the axiom 49, and the thing is great. Its my first controller tho, and I'm having a little difficulty setting it up like some others I see.

Doctrine, I tried your method for setting up the pads to work for redrum, but got nothing, maybe I missed something. I pressed the pad, hit ctrl assign, 147, data 1, then made sure 36-43 were in there correctly. These are the steps (taking into account my 49 key model rather than 25), no?

Another thing I'm confused about is whether or not the drivers on the disc are necessary, as the keyboard works plug and play for me like it says.

Any help is great, its awesome that everyone learns how to use this stuff together.

Thanks

hoax, you did not click "advanced" before you pushed "ctrl assign"

I just want to thank you guys. I just got the Axiom 25 and this forum made the setup so much easier.

Thanks, I love you all.

Maybe I'm Amazed . . .

Hoax, if I may butt in, I think the drivers are necessary for the advanced usage such as editing with Enigma and a few other things. If it ain't broke don't fix it, but I think you'd eventually want to install them. I haven't figured out the controller assignments on my 25 but now I want the 61 and the Trigger Finger just so I can really feel stupid. The concept is good especially if you have Phd in MIDI. Keep monitoring this forum and eventually some of us may figure this out.

now that my axiom 25 is up and going i'm mad for the thing. it is a cool piece of equipment and totally wotrh every cent i paid. if you're just starting out you wont regret your purchase. their tech support over the phone is great. these guys are users too so they are helpful and want you to dig their stuff as much as they do.

Theres no advanced button on the 49, and u dont have to install the drivers, just make sure you 1) install windows service pack 2
2)Install directx 9c 3) read the manual :p if u're having problems.

Drum Pads

Thanks Aequitas, metryman, and ibok -

The advanced button is only on the 25 key model like ibok said, with the 49 and 61 there's just more buttons so things are a bit easier, but bigger.

I called up m-audio tech support and his answer was to install the drivers and then see what happens, but installing them didn't do it.

I have service pack 2 and 9c, so I dont think those are the problem either, and I checked out the manual in the begginging and then ended up here (read all of it actually :victory: ), but both processes are the same either way.

Anything else I might be missing?

Thanks alot,

i think i mite get this controller but i have a question. rite now im getting 2ms of latency using FL Studio 6 with an Audiophile USB. If i get this controller will i no longer have latency since it is through MIDI? thats pretty much all i wanna know, if yall understand what im saying. cause it seems to be perfect for my setup. pads AND keys. peace

hey hoax, check your PM, sorry, Kalon but i dont know much about latency, i know i get it w/ Cubase when using my axiom 49 but i guess it takes some tweaking around.

Thanks again ibok -

I used MIDI-OX - http://midiox.com/, on ibok's suggestion and it lists info about each midi message you send. I noticed that for whatever reason my pads were coming in on channel 10, and switching them all to 1 did the trick. Hopefully that saves someone else some time - If your pads dont work check the channel they're coming in on. The manual mentions that most software recieves on all channels, I guess maybe reason is an exception, at least in this case.

****..the reason i asked is cause i gotta friend who has a midi keyboard (an old one) and he has like a really basic pc and he says that he gets no latency, and another one with a midi and an Mbox (which has more latency than my card) and says he dont get none either...btw ASIO4ALL does not work for me...trust i tried it already. so help me out guys...i need accuracy on my latency..i know its possible im like right there...im @ 2ms if only i could get to 0ms!!

Kalon,

Im no expert on midi controllers, i just got myself an axiom 25 a week ago, but it seems to me latency has a lot to do with how good of a sound card you have, not really the keyboard... i run my axiom 25 with i think 12ms of latency with onboard sound...

again dont take my word for it, this is just what makes sense to me seen as when you increase the sample buffer for your soundcard it increases latency...

just got a axiom 49, im able to use the keys and rum pads ...but as far as the (stop, play,ff,rw buttons no luck i did the edit remote ovr..mappin but it doesnt aknowledge any of the transport button it aknowleged only 1 of the rotary knobs and only 1 of the faders....im really tryin to grasp this thing...also enigma i dont know wat im doin on ther i thought u just select the peiece of equipment u u have out the list and let it download the sys ex data to the axiom ive done it prolly 80 tmes to no avail sumbody help pls...

I've got a group that can help

I've got an Axiom 25, ****'s ill...

. . . .

Peace,

These newer M-Audio controllers can do so much. . . .but getting your head around all the features and learning how to use Enigma can sometimes feel like more than you bargained for. .So I started a yahoo group:

http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/M-Audio_Enigma/

It's basically for people of any skill level who want to learn to get more from their Enigma-supported M-Audio keyboard (Trigger Finger, Axiom Series, Keystation Pro 88, etc). You gotta question?. . post it on the group and I'll see if one of us can get you and answer. There is SO MUCH you can do with these keyboards, you just gotta keep askin' the right people and reading the right docs to master it all.

stop on by if you want to join others trying to learn the same stuff you guys are discussing in this thread. We're not stoppin' till we've learned every advanced MIDI trick in the book.

dont install the drivers that came wit the axiom do wat a few have posted already preferences and do it manually m-audio with surface controls...enigma works now etc an assigning the overide remote works also now....and for assignin the pads to work properly with redrum follow the instructions that were stated for the 25 but for the 49 users and 61 users instead of pressin enter or the last key press store...
