M-Audio Axiom 25 - Discussion + Troubleshooting

drum seq yes. basslines yes, assinging files to keys i'm not sure. w/o vst's

Doctrine, finally i figured out how to get the "cut itself" feature to work w/in redrum. theres a small box on the lower left that says channels 8&9 excluseive. check it. and it'll work just like "flstudio" hit me up if you have issues.

Wats up yall? Im new to these forums and Im so happy I stumbled into here. Learned a lil so far. Im having a major problem. I jus go tmy Axiom a week and I love the feel and functionality but I have no clue how to use it LOL. Anyhow Im currently using the free version of Ableton, Live Lite 4 and 5. I have some questions if anyone is nice enough to help.
How can i map and play drum patterns with the Axiom triggers in Ableton live lite 4 or 5?
Also if anyone has a useful link giving a good walkthru on how to use the Axiom with Ableton live lite it will be greatly appreciated. Thanx in advance yall. Someone holla back!
 
does anyone using the axiom with ableton know how to play two impulse tracks simultaneously on the controller? I zoned my axiom and got two separate instruments to play together (i.e. impulse and an operator track) but can't get two impulses to play together. I think something about the octave setting is currently preventing me from doing this. appreciate assistance
 
All right, here's an idiot question for you.... :cry:

I've tried for the past few weeks to simply assign the knobs on the Axiom 25 to send MIDI CCs to my Virus TI Desktop. I've got a CC list of the TI, but using Enigma I haven't been able to find a way to just assign the CCs to the Axiom. Am I missing something? Maybe I should just go back to the manual, but I thought I'd ask here first.
 
No, you're not an idiot . . .

You're just an owner of the Axiom! One of these days M-Audio will realize that we're musicians and not computer programmers. I love the feel (and want to upgrade to the 61; I got the 25 to test it). And it's a solid unit. The pads are great for tapping out the percussion. But M-Audio needs to put out a non-cryptic video or something, a tutorial, something. Maybe if enough of us write an e-mail, they'll get hopping. I use Cubase and have spent hours trying to figure out how to map to the transport with the Ax's transport buttons. I know when I figure out how, I'll love this thing. Enigma remains . . . an enigma! They named it correctly. Keep me posted if you break the code. I'm headed over to M-Audio to post a copy of this letter, too.

I need my transport buttons to work (and if I could bind other stuff up too that would be tight) e.g. my modulation wheel doesn't seem to work in FL (6.0.8) / Axiom 25

I am having the same problem with the transport buttons on an AX49. I have got them to work but only by assigning an unused controller number and getting cubase to receive that number and interpret it as a transport command. There has got to be an easier way.

it seems like the axiom is no substitute for an mp1000 and a regular old keyboard.....

hi all,

So I went from getting the cme,5,6,7 to the korg kontrol49 (it's so 'pretty'..) but pumped for the axion 61 and the ****er is huge lol. Just goes to show, when i saw it at first I thought it was ugly and bland but the pics were decieving though i'm not overly convinced by the spacing between knobs etc with the big empty space before the drum but that's irrelevent. Anyway for me the modulation wheel was quite sensetive and i struggle with the pads because i got lousy drumer syndrome but I can honestly say after looking at ALOT of models and makes I think I picked the right one. It's ofcourse dependent on your needs but the keys feel great it was easy to set up with stylus rmx. I haven't tried getting the transport buttons to work yet, it's an exciting kit so I think we should make like a dummies guide or something. Ofcourse i'll do what I can but my knowledge is limited, still it's well worth the price for me :cheers:

can anyone upload the presets for FL Studio 6 for the axiom?

**** is trippin me out, trying to read the manuel right now, but i learned how to load up presets and stuff but when i boot up reason and load up the NT-19 preset, my first keys on my keyboard triggers NT-19 and REdrum? can anyone help me figure out whats wrong
 
I've had a 25 for a few months now and it's served me really well. Certainly shaped the way I compose music. Unfortunately though, the LCD screen started to flicker a couple of days ago and now my audio software isn't recognising it.

Has anyone else seen this problem in the Axiom's? Normally I would take it straight back to the store, but I jumped the gun and bought one from the US as soon as they came out instead of waiting for an Australian release and so warranty is an issue. :(

Also im using Reason 3 and it does'nt print my notes down onto the main draw page why is this?

ya man my LCD started flickering and **** the 2nd day i got it! im returning dat **** tomorrow.
 
i just got mine today too, its a really nice controller and a good upgrade from my Oxygen 8, makes beatmaking alot more fun with more keys, and im lovin the pads.
ive got the 61 keyed version, reason doesnt auto detect it, or have it in the list, but i just created a new device and it works, but i think thats because i dont have the latest version of Reason 3, (cant upgrade due to "reasons" ;) )

i assigned all the transport through right clicking on the buttons in reason, and doing it that way.
the pads are messed up in redrum tho.
all in all, its a very nice controller, its just got alot of features thats gonna take me a long time to configure and learn.
also... the enigma? i dont understand that ish one bit.

Right click the play, record, skip buttons and click edit remote overide mapping. Then choose your control surface then check Learn From Control surface input then hit the right buttons and assign them that way.
 
so in reason, does it auto detect your axiom? also, if not, what controller do you set it as?
mine doesnt detect mine, is it just me? :confused:

Then just press the key to active it so its set then thats it mainly, if it does'nt work just re-install the drivers and do it again.

i know what your saying, but its simply not there, it has the Oxygen 8, keystation ect... just not the axiom!
can you or anyone else maybe upload the keymapping file, its located at;
Propellerhead Software/Remote/Maps/M-Audio
or atleast on macs, its a .remotemap file, so if not, search for that, much appreciated if you can peoples!
p.s. 61 key version! thanks again
