Low record sales mean hip-hop artists must diversify to attract major music labels

Hip hop is gonna be forced into more live performing and real acts in the next couple of years. There are some good MCs finally getting exposure since the labels can't control the flow of free music on the net, and the indie and unsigned cats are getting thrown in the mix with the major label acts on youtube and such.

The "street cred = good MC" algorithm will most definitely backfire on these idiots very soon. Case in point the recent cut of a few artists I wont' name. By all means, I like to see people who never had loot get money, but if you gonna shame the craft and sell your soul to get it then I have no sympathy for you.
