I know I'm late, but .... I was watching the video and Tammy Torres' ass is foquin outrageous. And I kinda like the song. At least the theme moreso than anything.

^I've always wanted to know how to make those ambient type beats, are they all presets, or do you have to do sumthin special like lowpass filtering or sumthin?
 
If you get a Pad, Musical Fx type voice and use an arpeggio on it ... a lil reverb and delay slow it down to about 80 or 70... I think the Motif XS is good for that cause it has a ton of arpeggios and a remix function that I've yet to all together get a handle on. Matter a fact listen to some Genesis and you should be able to replicate.

I don't hear any special fx on this one.
I guess it's more what sounds you choose and what arrangement you roll with.

Hip hop "ambient" music is usually on some pads type shit.

All i hear on this one is an airy pad and pitched piano (?) sounds...plus a pitched 808 kick/tom and those bells every now and then.

I'm not sure though, i can't listen on my krk's right now.


anyways the hole thing sounds real smooth...lil wayne is a perfect match for this beat.

mixtape wayne is where he's the most creative and expressive.
 
The pad has a heavy phaser/flanger on it if you're looking for the sound...
 
The pad sounds reversed and defiantly has a heavy flanger on it. Sounds real close to a synth brass if you want to make something similar.
