Hi there!

I found an old turntable in my parents' basement, and I'm wondering if it's meant for dj-use or just to listen to music with.
It's a

London Acoustical Developments (uk) model GAJ 942 SP Direct Drive Professional Turntable

It has a lot of special stuff on it that wouldn't be found on a typical hi-fi turntable I think. Do you know if it's worth anything but crap?

thanks already!
peace

LAD was London Acountical Developments created to compete with Technics. They claim to be rumble free when played directly on a speaker.Various guises were made but they had a main flaw on wow and flutter of the turntable which was never addressed. Shame because they looked good so what you have is a piece of history which could be
worth something to a historian if it works and is clean.

^^^ Fascinating.

Original Poster: the Turntable is direct drive, so you can technically scratch with it--if you have a proper slipmat. Although I doubt it will have enough torque and steadiness to actually do anything complex with.
