Can someone please tell me how to import sound libraries into Kore 2?

I tried Menu>Options>database

I see the path where my samples are location. Some sounds work. Many so not and I could not get any of my Kontakt 3 samples to show up in Kore(which is my major concern.

I found the options menu. IS there a "main options" menu as well? This was mentioned on the NI site. But, I cannot find this in Kore 2.

What's the deal with you?

They gave you a direct answer on the NI forums.
Why don't you do what they suggest?

"As I said in your other thread, it's in Kontakt's options menu..."
Even they see you are not listening.

Giffin,

I did exactly what they said. All I can say is know the whole story before you speak.

1. The original post I was referring to did not state anything about opening Kontakt 3.
2. I did not get an email notification that EW has responded to my post.
3. I did what they said and I still have no Kontakt 3 sounds in Kore 2. Battery is there...massive is there...but no Kontakt 3.

know the whole story ...
What's the whole story. I see two threads on here and at least one on NI...

This is what I'm talking about...
Can you clarify a few things for me?

You mentioned "main options"

I don't see this in Kore 2. I only see "options" inside the menu drop down.

Where is the main options menu located?

They replied: it's in Kontakt's options menu...

1) Did you fix THIS IN KONTAKT? that's what everyone is telling you to do?
Main Options >LOAD/IMPORT> Library Path

Many, at least all of the answers I've read here in the form, said to change the main options path, but didn't say the in the LOAD/IMPORT section. You might have no setting under LOAD/IMPORT, or an incorrect setting. I, and apparently many other people, was figuring that since I had the correct path to my library under the SEARCH/DB section, which is also under Main Options, nothing should have been wrong. The same thought applied to the Rebuild path. However, the path must also be correct under LOAD/IMPORT. If not, you can rebuild all you want but you'll still have the problem with Kore 2. In fact, after correcting the LOAD/IMPORT path, I didn't have to rebuild for the Kore 2 situation to clear up.

This should make it very clear to everyone with the "missing samples" issue. My advice, look for your answers in the knowledge base before asking in the forum. I know I will from now on. I wasted a lot of time searching here and reading thread after thread about the same issue.

2. They said consult the Knowledge Base. Did you do that? Did you read the pages of the MANUAL THAT I SUGGESTED that clearly states a plug-in must have a proper path rooted to it's own Databse or library of sounds. KORE looks to the default location of the plugs sound- if you've moved it (and I bet for Kontakt you did) KORE may not see it. You need to Register the soundbank in Kontakt so Kontakt can tell Kore where to look too. It's not in the Database Menu of KORE. The moderator told you that. Yes, even now, you are still in KORE looking to IMPORT sounds. I said initailly THAT IS NOT HOW IT WORKS.

I pointed you to the pages in the manual where it says that. I pointed you to the link on their tech-support forum that agrees with me.

What the **** is the whole story I'm not getting???
Have you opened KONTAKT yet and DID ANYTHING IN THERE?

Nothing negative about it?
Let's see...you post on a forum asking for help...a forum I happen to be a member of. Lets see. I use KORE 2...I wrote a feature on it...I actually have mine working.

Yeah, I think I'm qualified to advise you on it.
So again...

Have you opened KONTAKT yet and DID ANYTHING IN THERE?
Set the pathway like everyone is telling you, fire up KORE again and let us all know how you fare....

Have you opened KONTAKT yet and DID ANYTHING IN THERE?
I'm waiting to see if my negative bull**** helps...

I've been in Kontakt 3 four times. I'm now doing everything over, just in case I either missed something or it glitched. It's presently rebuilding the DB.

I double checked K3 and it's sees all the folders(band, synth, urban, etc)

In the options for DB, I have the "StandardUserPath" pointing to the Kore 2 Sample Content.

In the "Sounds" tab. I have the battery library, The Kore 2 library and the K3 Library directories configured.

The "hide unavailable sounds" box is unchecked.

I did a full scan and I do not see any Kontakt 3 tagged sounds in the Kore 2 browser.

Let's cover your experiences thus far so I don't overlook the obvious...

1. You have a registered/licensed/activated copy of Kontakt 3- which you have run on its own and opened sounds from it's library. Thus found the samples/sounds in those folders called Synth, Band etc....

2. (Not really pertinent, but proves everything is working..) Kontakt 3 scanned your computer and built its own database taking note of all the files on your computer it can read...

3. When you started KORE 2 after that, it paused on start and said it was registering Plug-ins.

4. After starting KORE 2...You highlighted the little picture of an vertical electric outlet Plug (universal symbol for Plug-In). You saw a field for Internal and VST.

5. You highlighted VST and Native Instruments which then put on the far left side a listing of all your NI stuff. You double clicked Kontakt 3. You then clicked the EDIT button right below the 0 KORE Logo.

6. You now have a new window running Kontakt 3. You clicked on FILES in that window and navigated to that same folder with Synth, Classical, Band etc...and NO SOUNDS SHOWED UP?

7. If sounds show up and you can open the presets then everything has been working fine from the start. If sounds do not show up then something is wrong in one of the previous steps or you skipped something or didn't fully grasp the manual or tutorial videos.

8. On a note for workflow- you should not want to IMPORT YOUR KONTAKT 3 library into KORE. That defeats the purpose and you would be back to surfing another million presets. You want to extract the best of Kontakt and FILE THOSE SOUNDS as Kore 2 sounds and save them with keywords. In other words, you save the preset as you see fit and YOU decide the categories/description.

That's the general idea behind a "Best R&B Leads" submenu of presets.
It would conatin Leads from Massive, FM8, Kontakt, FreeVST, KVRcrap, internetjunk, homiessamples, vstonlyyouhaveeverheardof, etc...

We are just not communicating well today.
I see now that what you want to do is impossible.

As simply as I can put it...KORE 2 does not automatically make categories for any synths presets. They have to be 'specially tagged' for that. There is no way to magically Import Kontakt 3 sounds and have them all become KORE 2 sounds in any BULK LOADING WAY. Kontakt 3 is using samples. KORE 2 is using the saved presets (.fxb) to list the presets. Those fxb become KORE 2 sounds .ksd AFTER they are opened and saved by...YOU.

What you are seeing in the KORE 2 browser are Preset patches NOT SAMPLES. Sampled Patches must be loaded individually. Kontakt is using...samples. Samples (wave files) and not VST presets (.fxb) When you open them and save them as KORE 2 sounds they become a preset by KORE remembering where the sample was and what FX settings were applied. That makes it the KORE 2 version of a VST preset (.ksd).

I suggest you open an Email support ticket with NI to hear it from them directly. There is always a chance I could be wrong.

By the way - everyone is thinking you can't see the Kontakt 3 sounds in KORE 2. You should clarify that if you intend to post more about this.

And that means for many IMPORTING Kontakt sounds is the same as opening an instance of it inside KORE 2. You want to see on the far right side of the screen- a bank that says Kontakt 3 and below it lists all the instruments/presets. I get it.

You have to make that happen yourself because of what I said above.
maybe you should see if someone has done that already and have them send you the .ksd files for Kontakt 3...maybe I'll suggest that as a download for their user base...

Thanks for clarifying that for me. I thought, since there was a kontakt engine built in, kontakt 3 sounds could be installed just like battery, absynth, massive and the other NI plugins. EW mentioned something about some(ksd?) installer. what does that do?

Holy cow, it's possible!

The install is is under KORE 2 updates "KoreSounds for products of KOMPLETE 4 and KOMPLETE 5" Although that's misleading, Kontakt 3 .ksd are listed as being installed. It's the 272.4mb download. I tried it and it works. Good thing I put that Icouldstillbewrong disclaimer in there.
