Yeah Tom Cruise was freaking out over Kanye in a review. Ill post it.

During Kanye's brief break from rapping, A-Trak showed the crowd why he's won all of those DJ trophies. After some technical difficulties, Trak put his weight on things, slicing up Lil Wayne's "Go DJ" record while the crowd marveled.

"Damn," said a very impressed Cruise, who was standing on a balcony above the stage surrounded by people such as Stephen Baldwin. "I remember when they used to just do drum solos."

When West returned to action, John Legend sat at a keyboard in the middle of the stage and begin playing the chords to "Heard 'Em Say." It was totally stripped down at first. With no drums or bass, West rapped over Legend, who played the piano and sang Adam Levine's chorus.

"Great song!" Tom Cruise said aloud while the two G.O.O.D. Music teammates played.

"Wow!" Cruise yelled when "Heard 'Em Say" came to an end.

Later, Talib Kweli joined West onstage to perform "Get By," and 'Ye took time out to let the crowd know that he had some high-profile friends in the audience, including Jay-Z.

"I have to stunt," West said, "because this doesn't happen every day."

He then introduced Cruise, who was a little shy but smiled and waved to everyone when the spotlight and camera-phone flashes hit him. Kanye closed with another bread-and-butter hit, "Jesus Walks," leaving Tom to say "un-f---ing-believable!" as he filed out with everyone else.

Thats dope that Tom Cruise was familiar w/ the evolution of the 'Tablist...

'I remember when they used to just do drum solos'

Where is this dialogue from Woodcock ?

Its all from MTV. I just found this to be the most interesting part.

Seems to me like he's trying to get Ye to join his little cult.

im not sure if he's doing the infamous mission impossible theme, i think he's just doing a song on the soundtrack. i was reading his article in rolling stone and they covered him in the studio working on it, and the hook he was rapping went something like "we want that sh1t/that mission sh1t/that kanye and twista sh1t/that impossible sh1t"

seemed lame as fukc to me. just as bad as how limp bizkit fukced it up with MI:2

he may be working on another song on the soundtrack as well, but he has been asked to re-interpret the theme song.

"Grammy Award-winning rapper Kanye West has been selected to interpret the theme to the latest installment of the Mission: Impossible movie franchise..."

wow. i am goin to go see that movie now just so i can hear it! that kanye is so cool!

haha

You know this brings up something I've been thinking about for a while. When a rapper makes a movie or whatever they should do the whole soundtrack and have like a concept cd type thing. Kinda like what Outkast is going to do with Idlewild. I want to see like a good movie(doesn't have to be a hip hop drama) with like a real soundtrack. These stupid fillers on soundtracks are just killing rap. If there's gonna be a rap soundtrack it should be something real.

i thought he was doin most of the soundtrack, ie producin, rappin etc...

I caught the tail end of some interview with Tom and 'Ye on MTV, wit I believe Suchin Pak? she said she looked forward to hearin' the "soundtrack". I took that as he was doin most of the heavy lifting.

man... dude is going to mess ish up... not in a good way. why the hell are they going to change something that's been around since the orginal television show... yes for those who don't know, its been around since the late 60s and 70s. disappointed.

i actually enjoyed the original, and surprisingly, the instrumental set Limp used, I just didnt like the lyrics all too much. I think that the lyrics should follow the storyline, if any at all.

As long as people stop using his beats for r&b...

:D

edit:
sorry, I'm basing that comment on uniformed generalisations and assumptions about the music.
I just didn't like his song on the Mariah album. Why did they pick that for her to sing over???

best mission impossible theme use in a song belongs to the goats "dug dig." hmmm.. classic.

Off topic, but I think it's MAD STRANGE that MI:3 previews are on tv already and the shyt doesn't drop until May 5th. I saw a preview of it last night when Lost was on...but maybe it's because J.J. Abrams is directing MI:3.

Either way that's mad strange. They're putting in work EARLY!

i'm guessing he's just gonna flip the sample from the old shows theme. sly and robbie allready killed it
