With his song “Slow Motion” dominating the charts, Juvenile didn’t plan on slowing down when he made the switch from Cash Money/Universal to Atlantic Records. Juvenile has signed a long-term deal with Atlantic Records that would hold him as an exclusive artist of the label worldwide. With the new deal Juvenile brings his own label UTP Records on to the Atlantic family as well. UTP had previously had a deal with Rap-A-Lot Records. “It’s a 90 percent chance that this is the last one”, Juvenile said about making an album with Cash Money Records again. “It’s me using the system. I been away for the game for three years, in order for me to just leave and start all over again it would be a big step. So I just used the system and make whatever move I can make”, he told MTV. Juvenile, Wacko and Skip (the three members of UTP) are currently gaining success with their album “The Beginning of the End” at number 37 on the billboard charts. Juvenile is expected to release his next solo album in the beginning of 2005 on his new label.

Probably the other way around. He was probably under contract to finish out an "X" amount of albums deal and this is his last one. It's rare that an artist 'uses' a lable.

BINGO!!!! Juvie couldn't record anywhere else after his first 'leaving' cash money. That's why we never saw a Juvie solo disc on UTP records. He came back because 1) his broke ass needed the money, and 2) to finish out his contract. He did the album (if you notice he isn't even standing close to any of the Cash Money squad in the video's), and now he's off and running.

What i don't understand is that UTP just signed a Label deal with Rap-A-Lot. Now Juvie is signed as a solo artist to Atlantic now, but what about the label home of UTP, and his artists?

Oh. And Juvie's the only in house producer. They contract outside for beats (like that slo-motion).

I've always liked Wayne as a rapper, but it just wasn't the same old CMR feeling when Juvenile came back. BG has been gone and Turk is in & out of jail. All CMR has left are Tymers, Teena Marie, Weezy and the never to be released artists like- Gilly & Mickey. I might check that UTP .... out though, Skip's voice is hilarious. On Flip's I can Do That remix, I was rollin when his verse came on.

Yeah, you're right. I never liked Turk, he was never really that skilled or had that charisma. They did release Boo and Gotti though, although they didn't really push the album. The single was hot, and it had some more hot singles on it. Mannie's coming out with a solo disc. Should be hillarious.

On 2 UTP, the only one i like out of the crew is Skip. The dude is on fire, and his vocal delivery just enhances the lyrics. Hopefully his next solo will have much better production than Live From Hollygrove did.

I always said that 400 degreez is overated, but that line would usually turn into an arguement. Maybe we are both outcast on that statement.:(

400 degrees still gets mad play from me and a lot of people...I think its classic status could be questionable...I deem it a classic, his style at the time, his voice, Mannies beats, his lyrics, were just on point, he nailed that album...Just my humble yet confident opinion....
