Just bought a mpd32, and I'd like to use it...Ableton 8?

...so I looked up Ableton Live 8, which seems to be everyone's preference, and it's $400+! I just spent $300 getting the mpd32, and don't have any more cash right now. I really just want to mess around and learn how to use the thing first...are there other options that are cheaper? It would suck to have this awesome piece of equipment just sitting here in my room and not be able to use it...

if you buy the mpd32 new you should get a copy of Live Lite included which should get you started. otherwise maybe download reaper and use it with poise or another drum vst like the CM SR202
