Is there a zoom on the fruity slicer.

Use Edison to slice. Then drag the sliced sample from it to a slicer channel.
That's actually what it's meant to do in the first place.
 
set the chops at bar. click on the knife icon u will see it

It is a sample editor.
What is special about it, is that it gets loaded as an FX in the mixer. This way it is inside your sequencer & you can easily record everything what is routed to the mixer channel it loaded into (like your soundcards input e.g.)
It can also autoslice, manual slice, normalize, etc... usual audio editing stuff.
It's currently just available in the FL 6.4 beta version.
