Is live music dead?

Just think. Back in the 70's when the first synthesizers were coming out and sounds such as string sections and brass were being synthesized, all the string players and brass players started shaking in there boots. But here we are, 30 some years later and violinists and horn players are still getting gigs.

We rock live. With Turntables, electronics, and "real" instruments.

Trust me, it is far from flawless! =^)

He's right about the technology part, but there is always going to be live concerts, so your going to need live bands...
Not yet, but it does seem to be dying out.

Even the "human imperfections" are imitated on the computer now. Give it 10 years and every instrument will be precisely imitated using synthesis and physical modeling. And I do mean precisely - exactly like the real thing.

PS: I think writing is dying out also.
