whats up,I just startin messin with the fruity scratcher in fruity loops and I've finally learned how to speed up or slow down the tempo of sampled songs with it but am I able to record it to a track?,I have a sample I want to use and I tried pressing the record button and playing the samp during recording but it didnt record it,if any one knows what the hell I'm talkin about and can help me I'd really appreciate it,thanks

when you hit record FL should record your movements as automation. don't know why it doesn't work for you.
anyway: the new wavetraveller is a lot better to use for scratching sounds.

thanks man, damn I was hopin I'd be able to just record a part of a song I wanted I didnt really want the scratchin sound just the sample, thanks again tho

oh, now i know what you meant.
why don't you cut the part you want to be played in your song with a wave-editor and insert it in the step-sequencer as normal sampler channel?
this way you can play with it just like if it was an normal instrument.
or again: the wavetraveller would do this job quite well, too! (without having to edit the sample!;) )

yeah I really need to get a wave editor but I cant afford to right now but I might check out this wavetraveller,I've never heard of it,thanks again man

oh and one more thing, since you now know what I'm tryin to do which is sampling(songs not sounds)I wonder with a wave editor if I chop a section I want and place it in a channel on FL I can play it like any other sound?,changing the tempo of the samp and all? anyways thank you man you helped me out alot

since u cant afford a wave editor right now, you can download an Adobe Audition demo if u just need to get a quick job done. they'll give u a 30 day trial. or if you're just really desperate for something permanent, you could use the Windows Sound Recorder.

and as far as the chopping thing goes, you can play those sounds like any other ones, but when you put em on the piano roll, they can get really crappy if the sound is too big and if u go too far past the root note. it changes the tempo and the pitch, and if u go too far out, the different notes wont flow good.

wow interesting so how would I be able to use the sound recorder did you mean I could chop a certain section of a song?I just checked it out and I never even messed with it before and thanks for the suggestion for the Adobe Audition demo I'm def gon check it out, thanks man cuz I swear all I need is a good samplin tool and its all good mane,PEACE

HAHA f the adobe man damn homie I just figured that sound recorder out man, shiet all along this shyt was right there for me to use,I know I might sound a lil to excited but you def helped me out alot homie, DionteScott thanks alot man

or you can try this one:

http://www.sofotex.com/Free-Wave-Editor-download_L11305.html

its a free wave-editor. haven't tried it, but i guess it will do the job better that the windows buildt-in version.

another one:
FL studio 4 has an own buildt in wave-editor.
if you load up a channel in the step sequencer, click on the channel button. now hit ctrl-e. there it is! ;)

Don't forget that FL has its own built-in wave editor -- Crappy, yes, but very convenient. Hit Ctrl-E in the Sampler window to access it.
