Is it just me or does pharrells beat on..

Blueprint 3 "Ambitous" kind of suck????

i was just imagining if someone here had made that beat and posted it up for review, i would said, um its okay but its kind of boring lol but it seems that alot of times a track is seen as hot just because a certain PERSON produced it and/or rapped over it.

that being said the more i listen to it it grew on me a little but man it doesnt seem all that great to me...same goes for the swiss beats joint on that album

i love it. i love swizz' joint too. i love all of em actually.

not everything has to be unbelievably musical. not everything needs to sound a specific way. listen to the subject matter in the pharrell song. the feel of the song matches. you should be able to recognize that.
 
music's all about relationships man u know this. do u know how far back jay and pharrell go man?

i also like both songs im just saying those beats didnt make me say OH SNAP. they worked, it just seems that they werent all that great...thanks for the link deranged i didnt know that...its basically the same beat

So why Just Blaze didn't make the album? Why not Ski and Irv Gotti? Why J.Cole, Cudi, Drake who haven't been on the scene long enough to "go way back" with him?

Pharrell has the ability to make artists see his vision when he gives them a track. Nothing more, nothing less. A "hot beat" is nothing more than ones opinion. And honestly, many producers are so engulfed in what they consider "hot" that their opinions are tainted.

Not saying I like the beat or think it's hot. Just saying I can admit my sole opinion is no reflection on what fans who don't make beats enjoy. :cheers:

it grew on me. i think they pharell used the same horn patch on this. it gives both these songs a funky flavor

yeah makes sense.......sometimes as a beatmaker its easy to focus on the instrumental and not the whole track.....dont want the beat outshining the rapper i guess
 
every beat that i have heard so far off the blueprint3 has been a banger, including the pharrel joint. i dont really know what not to like about it......... and i definatly agree wit djaycas, its about the song
 
I actually liked the song and beat a lot... it's not your average beat..
 
This one of the handful of songs off of BP3 I really dig. Alot of filler on that album in my opinion.

wtf are You sayin, this beat is fire. it has that something big in it, i cant hep but imagine some new york slideshows listenin to this ones. that's what music is about, generating feelings and emotions
 
Drums are sick on this track, when i first heard it, made me turn my headphones down.

exactly. how many people buy a cd kuz of great beats? most people buy jay z cds for jayz not his production

its one of those things where ive realized why i like a certain song and its not because of the beat or jay-z's rapping

to me, if alicia keys wasnt wailing like she was and the hook was any different
i wouldnt be into it

also the beat is very bland for the verse
but it is just my opinion
 
it's definently about the song and not the beat once the song is made..whas funny is,Jay has a talent of making mediocre beats into gold,the only artist I know that can do that imo..also,the beat was fine
