is it important that a track would be varied?

hello everyone,
in your opinion, is it important that the track would be more varied than more then 2 main lyrics?
i see tons of popular music with a very basic theme that repeats itself over and over for 3 minutes. what is your opinion about that?

I think it's a good addition to a song, however I would assume that artists would only prefer that main idea and even though it sounds repetitive it might still be going hard! Of course, having more variety in your verses is only a plus, I really don't mind repetitive songs.. Okay maybe a little (Thinking of Cut It by Shy Glizzy).
