Interview with the guy who made the "Party Like a Rockstar" Beat

"A star's never going to give a no-name producer a chance to do a single."

that is the exact point in which that article became worthless, maybe if he didn't make CHEESY beats like "Party Like a Rockstar" he'd would've had a single with a star. But whatever.

That beat really sucks by the way. I find it funny, whenever I touch my guitar, my melodies are a heck of a lot stronger and more advanced than anything I do on the midi controller for a beat. I'd NEVER use such a crappy riff, with such crappy effects, and crappy distortion as that guy did for that song.

Does he realize who likes that song? Young Girls.

Hmm, do you have any reports on this? Seriously, some sort of industry chart that show the demographics of those buying CDs? I hear you people saying this nonsense all the time, with zero proof. Show me that it's only young girls buying CDs and i'll shut up.

How about the fact that most of the music now is such bubble gum nonsense that its' only appeal is to ADD riddled young girls?

Wouldn't that make more sense?

Wrong. Young girls get what ever they want.

"Daddy, it's important for me to have an ipod, because everyone else got one and they make fun of me", then daddy say, " O.K, they got white, black, and pink, which one you want?"lol

young girls and middleclass white youth are the largest buyers of hiphop.. gotta cater to your audience ya know... I like the Beat to Party Like A RockStar personally.. just cant stand the lyrics

I dont know if young white girls are the main supporters\consumers... I dont have any proof but

Right now Im staying in A middle\upperclass white neighborhood.
ANd I know alot of young white girls... Daughters of DOctors and lawyers etc...

And some of these girls spend 500-1000 dollars on Itunes and cds...And its not a problem for them... And when you look through their Ipod its Justin Timberlake, this is why im hot, Party like a rockstar and songs of that sort.

Im like "Do they know about L imewire?" Cause back where Im originally from every one just bootlegs or does free dls.

What the hell... Party Like A Rockstar is the simplest beat ever... So overrated, it's pathetic.

Boy you people around here are quick to hop on d!ck, especially mainstream artists and producers' instrumentals and lyrics...

DJ Toomp is the best producer we will ever see or hear in the '00 decade.

His composition is complicated and he actually puts his musical skills to use!

Until you find a better producer than DJ Toomp, tell me. No one ever talks about Toomp, underrated and the best.

Timbo is just a percussion specialist, and Just Blaze just samples (hes good at it, and is unarguably the best at what he does.)
what about Dr. Dre, The Neptunes, Mannie Fresh, The Runners, Kanye West, Polow Da Don, J-Dilla, Pete Rock, 9th Wonder, the RZA, Madlib, MF Doom, or Three 6 Mafia? and what's wrong with sampling? if it's dope it's dope.

i don't think party like a rockstar is a great song but like i said before i commend them for doing something different.

Dj Toomp the best?? Why are most if not all his beats 808 crunk with
"Hey hey hey hey" chants

One thing I'll never understand is why major labels still want to sign artists after 1 big out-of-nowhere hit... Seems like that's almost always a recipe for a big-budget flop album the year after. But even after all the flops, it seems like there's always a major company ready to sign a 1-hit-wonder that's actually gonig to make them less money than an artist who's put the time in to develop a following and an audience.

I guess that's why I'm not a label exec :D

I heard some hot azz shyt the other day with Nitti on the beat, but yall will probably not hear it unless you in the ATL. I got love for Nitti because he ain't lettin "Hit Singles" get to his head. That's a real producer. He can give MTV viewers what they want, and still keep the streets bumping his beats. My warehouse is next door a CD Dup shop, 20 vans a day picking up CD's "for promotional use only."LOL You know dudes got to come through bumping they shyt. I heard some shyt that Shop Boys did that will get yall on they diznik, seriously. But Nitti, ah, I heard some shyt. I'mma say this and leave it alone, Lil Jon had a hit in the A called "WHo You Wit" which was only an 808 kick and snare, nothing more. Now look at all the Lil Jon wanna beez looking for the exact "train horn" he put his signiture on. Nitti is about to be the same way, trust me.

theres really no need to bet. after joc, how many platinum artist did nitti produce for. after joc how many number one singles did nitti produce. its self evident that fans of rap are getting tired of that bubble gum rap ****. its only good in clubs. someone like jay-z or nas are going to tha big producers. they're big producers for a reason.

I myself used to not like the Runners, but man they are so good at what they do, i had to realise it... Mannie Fresh has the south on lock, Dr. Dre is a beast too... Neptunes, overrated... 9th wonder is crazy, pete rock is a fool on the MPC, Polow da don is a little overrated all b/c of that one ****in track, three six mafia cant contest with mannie fresh, but they are two different styles...
