People get KFC for consistency. White Castles and In-N-Out are very small chains and you can hardly get near one at lunchtime or midnight. It's consistency that attracts customers.

Yup. You go to mcDonalds because you know whatever you order is going to taste how its supposed to..."Can I get a Number 1??"

theres so much more to life and music than just being a record producer is what i always say. and theres no reason that you cant have a 9-5 doing some shit that you like. you dont gotta work at McDonalds or hate your job theres a bunch of dope job opportunities out there and you can make beats on the side and still sling em

shit only reason why i aint consider Education was because its getting harder to get some real good money as a teacher just based off a BA.. you gotta basically get a Masters to get that REAL bread as a teacher

but its good money, benefits out the ass and vacation time like CRAZY depending on what you do

in by 7.. out by 4? ... you got the whole night to make beats or whatever you wanna do. and them bonuses are STUPID fat

Yeah it is, and that's what made me say **** it too. I mean now I'm doing stage work for the concert venues downtown, and a lot of stage hands shit (Music Theater), and it's "iight". still do session work on the side when I'm free.

but 'least I ain't graduate to work at Guitar Center like a lot of my classmates, lol. you can only see that same Cherry Sunburst P-Bass before it starts to mock you.

this convo just turned into a fast food convo that quick lol

btw I like mr heros #justsayin

Yup. People need to take the blinders off and be open to trying different things.

Look @ y'all, getting a lesson in REAL LIFE.

Back in 1991 (I was 14), I decided that I wanted to be a guy that told people how to make good records...be in the studio telling them how to sing, how to rap, "don't do it this way, do it like this"...I wanted to be that guy.

I didn't know what it was called. So I called it a "Production Consultant".

I didn't even know what a "producer" was, and I never gave any thought to "making beats". I just knew what I felt I was good at.

But even at 14, I knew that getting into that line of work was probably expensive, and required a significant amount of capital. So I decided then, I would graduate high school, graduate college, get a good job, and then start to chase my dream of being a "Production Consultant".

Graduated in 2001, and in 2003, I decided it was time to begin.

Fast Forward to 2012. Through all of my experiences in everything from playing various instruments, doing song writing, producing, engineering, studying under Grammy/Award winner/nominiees, dealings with major labels, indies, movies, commercials, radio, DJ'ing, on and on and on....

...i'm right on course for being that "Production Consultant" I said I wanted to be when I was 14. With the way my experiences and areas of expertise/interests all intersect, "Production Consultant" is the term that describes it best.

And it's exactly what I said I wanted to do...over 20 years ago....when I was a kid.

I realized that about a month ago, and it kinda floored me. That God put that in me when i was 14, and whether I knew it or not, He kept me on the path to becoming just that.

I say all of that to say that being an artist/producer isn't the end all be all. This is a BUSINESS of music. So there's so much more to do.

But if you don't have a PLAN, and follow that plan for the LONG HAUL, then you're never gonna make it to anywhere.

you can only see that same Cherry Sunburst P-Bass before it starts to mock you.

Especially if Squier lol.

Dudes be tripping, even if sellings beats only pays for your car insurance and phone bill that's still $200 free you got to spend instead of give away. It's a win-win really.

Thats just good marketing tho. Plus this nigga here sold beats before, I really dont think iceboy ever sold shit...

Ain't nothing in the world messing with two things.

I don't mess with fast food restaurants no more. I get hungry I'm stacked up for less money. Bananas and yellow apples....bottled water. Learned that celery makes you have a smell that drives women crazy........celery it is....don't like it...but the fact that the sexy female is instantly damp as I pass by her and I don't pay her attention......got me feeling BAWSE!!!

I wish I lived in an area where there was opportunity to work in other music related areas. Theres not a lot going on where I live at all.

Then create something. The fact that there's nothing going on, means that there's nobody doing it....means there's no competition.

And bruh, I'm not bitter about anything. My life is friggin awesome. Not a bitter bone in my body.

Not really sure where people get that "bitter" thing from.

The ******* thing I completely understand. But bitter? Negative.
