damn i just checked his recent beats,

the nigga commin back with some heat damn!

has someone tried to explain/walk you through how you go about setting up a vocoder?

what daw do you use?

take your instrument you wish to be vocoded and drop it on a mixer channel

route your mic input to mixer channel

take BOTH the instrument and the mic input channel and route them to a new channel ( ie. if instrument is channel 1 and mic is channel 2 then they both should be routed to channel 3 AND disconnected from the master bus.)

you still with me at this point?

pan the instrument (channel 1) hard left 100%
pan the mic input (channel 2) hard right 100%
drop a vocoder on channel 3

assign your midi controller to channel 3

now talk/ sing into your mic while pressing keys on your midi board. ....

hope this helped. get at me via PM if ur still stuck.

yea but can i use a pre recorded loop and use that as the vocal

you should be able to peezy, the loop will be your mod and the synth will be your carrier hope i got that right.

If you are using logic I have a much easier way. Just use the built in vocoder and side chain you loop...

In FL there is a plug called vocodex or somethin of that sort. Hell there is even a project preset that sets up a vocoder for you all you gotta do is change your sound you want to mix your voice with and record.

Peezy....google Warbeats Vocoder tutorial...he'll tell you exactly how to do it...but Statixx was spot on.

yea i got it but it sounds so ugly lol.... i want somethin smooth... i'm prolly jus gonna invest in a talkbox or something....

I don't think a physical talkbox will be the answer to it not being smooth. It's all about the sound you choose with it, and for your style a lot of reverb.

ok ok i didnt kno i could pick like a sine lead or something for it.... i thought it had to be these ugly asss vocoder carrier sounds.... preciate that

post results when u finish.

i never could figure out how to get that talkbox type sound johnny julliano be doin, by using the vocoder shit.

^^^You can run any sound through a talkbox too. They are basically the same thing.
