Music is universal, it's a natural expression, and if Allah blessed us with that, one can't take that away, as to positive music to listen too. I mean that's pure nonsense. TAlking is not music, second idle talk is talk that is gossiping about people in a negative way, with no purpose but to harm an individual's character. Idle talk is backbiting behind someone's back, and smile in their face. Idle talk is talk that take up time with nothing educational behind it. So its not music, again there is no scripture in Qur'an saying you can't listen to music. Again common sense is if a muslim is living righteous one wouldn't listen to negative music. Now making music is another thing which, how can one tell if the music is negative or positive being it has no vocals on top of it? lol music can give you a mood yes but music without vocals how can one classify it as good or bad? Again as long as the music don't take you away from what you're suppose to do in Islam it shouldn't be a problem and if it's positive.
