i read muslims are not allowed to play or hear music. hiphop is especially haram....

Islam is only 1 part of the NOI. If tomorrow the NOI replaced Islam with nationality I would join in a heartbeat.

what i don't get is why u 5%ers need to take all this arabic/islamic vocab and flip it into your own. why couldn't u get u'r own? instead u r confusing people, which should be the exact opposite of wut u should be doing to get u'r message across.

sorry if this looks political it's not, just saying. religeons in all there equal way have different beliefs. cat stevens became muslim and didnt make a song for many years...his new stuff under his new name yusef . but morroco, iran, egypt, turkey have massive musical backgrounds, uyghurs in west china revolt to the chinese state by playing arabic styled music.

we use it because we can...and if people are confused it's because they don't actually talk to 5%...they get thier info from people like u that have no clue about what they are talking about....

we'll stop using it when u arabs(and other muslims)stop basing your religion off of african sprituality.....the bible is a copy of egyptian mysticism...and the quran is just an update of the bible....

I'm a born muslim (not practising), and I think some muslim go overboard with some stuff.

I've been listening to Hip-Hop about 13 years and NEVER did I felt the urge to steal, slang rocks, you know "be a gangsta".

Hip-Hop to me, just like movies, is pure entertainment.

officially...it's the "nation of gods and earths"(nation of black men and women).....

we are gods...and god=man...we dont believe in the concept of god advocated by the "big 3"(judaism, christianity, and islam)....we see god as internal...the essence of our makeup...that's why we say we dont believe...we just have knowledge of self....

nas isnt a 5%(busta is)....some say that(they are muslims) because they are either confused or they choose to try to identify with muslims by playing both sides of the fence....

Peace , I am muslim and I do music, being I don't do lyrics it's nothing wrong. Now if a muslim is saying negative lyrics that's a no no. There are mad muslim mc's that I know and a lot in UK that I know that are doing music. So again, I do production only and sell that track there is no harm. There is harm if you are spitting negative lyrics. As you know it's suppose to be positive and I know a lot that do positive music. These are different times and there is no where in the Qur'an in Arabic nor English where it says not to do music. So that's the real right there.

I have a slight off topic question about Sunni's/Muslims/5%er's....

Since there's different versions and mechanics to the muslim religion based of perception and ways of practice why don't the Sunni's, NOI, direct Muslims, and/or 5%'s atleast recognize each other and get more stuff done? If I talk to a NOI member and a Sunni they say the same things mostly just differently... I always sit and listen when I see the brothers teaching but I still can't hear a difference outside of practices... The Sunni's are more direct but amazingly accurate as are the NOI... Why not conglomerate and be more effective? I can see why the christian wont cause there too divided by money but muslims are less needy... I don't get it?...


BTW: The Nuwabians are also a trip but there way to spacey... "Bush is not a clone... I repeat, Bush is not a clone...."

I dare any muslim to show me in the Qur'an which is the highest book over any other hadith or books to show me in the Qur'an where it says not to do music!
