i agree beyonce has the potential to be diana ross, whitney houston, mariah carey, and janet jackson status. but shes doin here today gone tomorrow music. the stuff she did with destiny's child was a lot better than the solo stuff. I would even say she has the potential to be bigger than Madonna

I used to ***** about Keith Sweats ol beggin ass but Nobody was the ****. Actually that whole album was his best work.

Anyone who doesn't needs their ass beat, I had a Maxwell thread not too long ago. Thankfully I recently hurd part of song from his new album, which means it should be on the way!

music today is'nt that bad, i just think there's a bigger market. I remember not too long before we had a million different music channels alot off peopple did'nt even listen to hip hop / rnb music. Now days most off the music in the charts are 65% hip hop or rnb, thats because off sky television, record companies are trying there very best too make a hitt record, which means we have alot off rnb / hip hop pop music!
Q-Tip has had his last 2 albums rejected by his label for not being pop enough ! Its no-bodies fault, its just firce competion.

You have to ask yourself if you want make the music you want to make? if so then start or join a indie label, if not you can get rich and join a major label a make big chart hitts!

I also think downloading and bedroom studios make things even worse for record companies as artist are'nt selling like they used too, so people are under more presure too make hitts!

anyone have H-Town 'ladies edition' - one off the great contempery rnb albums!
 
Im not gonna disagree, I think that Jodeci or TLC are much better compared to T-Pain and Chris Brown so to speak. I may not be old enough to have properly experienced that sort of music, but you cant do anything other than try to change all that with talent and determination, or just deal with it if sh!t aint really possible.

I am also waiting for the day when somebody as diverse and talented as Marvin Gaye comes along and leaves a note in the history books, but you cant control that unless you trying to do it yourself.

that era was alright. i won't bring in the classic years of the 60's and 70's., but the rnb jams of the 80's imo kill a lot of that mid - late 90's ish. i 'm not including early 90's 'cause there's a time-line crossover for some artists and music but i preferred my rnb as rnb not rap 'n bullsh*t that the 90's brought in bigtime.

the slow jams of the 80's and 90's rnb definitely were the hilight. maximum grindin' up against the wall.

Ill give Akon credit, he do work his azz off and make some catchy shyt but I wouldnt buy his album...thats just me tho
