I hate SoundClick.com Producers Rant!

Because FREE = NO value.

Major artist go with Major Producers (With Value).

Absolutely. But unfortunately that is how soundclick along with any other digital source of production distribution falls short.

A post I have above sorta explains the idea of the digital world vs the physical world.

Things that are entered into the digital world almost immediately lose value because that is the nature of the beast. Cheaper, faster, accessible, and these are all symptoms of not being PHYSICAL.

An online producer unknowingly places their brand into that category. Without that physical presence already established, you have a lot of new, young producers trying to post beats on the Internet thinking that's all it takes.

Well, not only have they entered their brand into a business model that is DESIGNED to create cheaper more accessible products (less value) they are going to have to use even CHEAPER marketing techniques to CREATE the sense of value in their website. And it's even harder on soundclick because all of the producer's pages are all on one site...soundclick.com. So you are now in direct competition with every soundclick member. You're not a soundclick member, you are a soundclick competitor haha.

With that said...the Free DL is in fact a key (of many other keys) to being more successful than the rest of the pack in the digital world. Another key would be to have your OWN site and not a soundclick.com...or have both really. Also, the idea of building a stronger physical presence in the real world changes your business model into a two part system. Each system would do the same thing (sell music) but in two very different ways, if not the opposite of each other haha. But that's another post.

look at soundclick as a corporation sc producer are those within the corporation top 10 are high level members ...doesnt matter what you tell them at the end of the day its gonna be "uh huh uh huh cool that you think like that but end of the day im makin money so blah" and thats all it is, you can ***** and whine tell them there ruining things or making it harder for a good percentage of people. While it may be true they are profiting from it so there will always be some defense that can be presented, whether legit or not and 9 times out of 10 it will be a rebuttle centering around there own personal profit from it. Any big corporation is hated because they make it exponentially more difficult for most while a select few grow greedy and set in there ways. And not only do they themselves present a problem but weak minded individuals who see it as a shortcut to havin to pay dues to get paid also follow in pursuit therefore spreading this business sense. You think if you tell walmart "hey your products are cheap but there very generic and **** made but are sellin like hot cakes" are they gonna change it? of course not and SC producers arent gonna change there beats or business tactics either it will take them out of there comfort zone aka dent there income stream.

Yep

u dont see anything wrong with any of that?

I think you hit it right on the head lol. People are going to keep talking about it even though your post pretty much says it's and endless loop because soundclick is what it is...you described the nature of the beast, how it works and why it works. Just like your walmart example in the real world.

People are going to complain...but walmart ain't going anywhere lol. Best thing you can do is shop at target or open your own damn store.

I have my own store...but that's not to say I'm not somehow including walmart tactics (or soundclick whatever).

At the end of the day I'm more concerned about my fans and really don't give even a little tiny sh!t about what these producers are going through or complaining about.

I mean I'm willing to help, which is a major part of why I ever post anything at all. But what I'm saying is, I'm not going to change my business model just because another producer dislikes it lol. My model is completely based off what my fans want and what I am able to do...that is it. And in return I get paid. Can't complain.

And that's not to say that anyone WOULD complain about the way I do business because no one has yet besides the occasional "artist" that wants something for free when I'm not offering.

You gotta stay true to yourself and do what you want to do. Can't let soundclick or people against soundclick change what works for you musically or financially.

But yeah, your post was on point in terms of telling it like it is because in my eyes...that is the way it is. You have to find a way to make it either not matter to you and your business or make it work in your favor.

And I bet you that is the same mindset of top soundclick producers. Majors hate free DL. Or they did. Soundclick embraced them. Now look. That's what I mean about not givin a sh!t about your competition and doing what works for your business ESPECIALLY if it bothers your competitors.

You're making business harder on your peers? Guess what...that means your are winning the competition. That is a huge part of what business is so you have to learn to embrace that.

Just stay ethical and you'll be fine no matter how "hard" you're making it for everyone else lol.

Sounds unfair? Maybe...not worried about that. Just here to win by using every legal available tool there is to get me where I need to be.

So I try not to complain...I just keep looking for leverage and learn from those things I MIGHT had complained about if I wasn't so business oriented.

the weak recently learned they over power the strong in numbers
so if they all ban together they can create a world were we have no choice but to live in it and they have successfully done that

church...

I never really understood why ppl make such a huge deal about debating soundclick producers' business eithics. Me and barretj have talked about it but i dont see the point in talking about it again. Just like Nova said it isnt gonna change you mite aswel shop somewhere else like target which would be like you goin on to soundclick and not conforming with the top ten or make your own damn store which would be like making your own domain to sell beats on. Either way soundclick is still there. not much you can do.

i could pay someone to hack it

just kidding

or am i?

the world may never know

muaaaaaaaaaaa ha hahahahahahahahahhahaha

lol just kidding on a side note i think allergies are starting to hit

so you recommend being a jack of all trades and a master of none?
thats a good plan but in order to be truly successful you have to be strong in every single area thats why i will never say to do everything solo human beings can only handle so much why not get a team so u can master one specific area instead of being mediocre in multiple ones

cosign...
yep also those who are in it from the quick dont mentally wanna go through the work or having to build an actual name not just net based they would rather see $$$ right away its the way of the world always try and find a shortcut explains why so much **** in the beat making world is done with a half assed approach.

You got to look harder then just the top 25, the majority of those beats were all paid for to chart high. I find good beats in the top 100-200 quite often, and the free downloads aren't free beats buy the lease if you want the beat untagged.
elaborate....

your an intelligent ass dude i respect that as ive said in the past SC top producers hats off to them they have found a comfort zone and it seems to be quite easy to remain once your there cant hate that, i disagree with promoting the **** out of dirty tactics and preaching promotion over talent. I feel as if it should be a dirty little secret, Do you see Wal-mart goin around in interviews sayin too bad for the little guy boo hoo or so what i kno my ethics are ****ed 6 ways from sunday but im makin money and lots of it...No they dont speak on the black side of there business sometimes the gray shows but they mostly try and show a clean white image and arent flaunting net and gross figures to the public.... SC PRODUCERS HOW EVER (not all) promote the **** out of it "i make this much money" "you would be suprised how many customers i have" "SC BEATS PAID FOR THIS RANGE ROVER" thats what i dont like. Inexperienced seriously business sense lacking bandwagon producers look at this as a fantastic way to do jack **** with no financial investment but 100 percent return if they just "grind" they dont take time to perfect there craft so instead there is a sesspool of inexperienced beat makers who strive for $$$ they dont deserve because there quality is lacking severly or non existant and instead of it bein a talented demographic its now a online dope game with no consequence of not payin dues.
