I agree with everything you wrote. I'm in my 3rd year of making music and it is a constant struggle to stay ahead, and im always learning. Thanks for the info!
 
I have been lurking on this forum for years and have learned a lot from the knowledge available here. I think newbies should devote time to becoming good musicians. No point learning Ableton Live or Logic back to front if your clueless about music theory and have no skills in playing music. I think Newbies would be a lot more successful leaving the DAW alone.
To all you newbies, don't waste your time clicking around in a complex DAW making noise. First you need to learn the language of music. Learn how to play drums, bass, keys, guitar. If you think playing real instruments sounds too hard, good luck trying to program virtual instruments cos its even harder. You need to be a musician before you become a producer.

Good advice - especially about staying humble. Ego is a big problem with producers and musicians alike. Staying open to learning is the best way to keep growing as a Producer!
