...if IndustrySound.com does not succeed in the way that I want it to.

Yes I said it.

IndustrySound.com is the culmination of 19 years of studying and knowledge of the music industry. I'm a freaking walking encyclopedia of music knowledge and music industry business practices/trends since 1990 (when I was 3).

Money wise, I'm good for about a year of not working. But at some point, I have to say "okay, this isn't working, I need to switch gears to build a true career".

Everybody has that "stopping point". IndustrySound.com is mine.

If it doesn't work, then I'm out the music game. I'll be selling all of my equipment, and it'll be a wrap.

This venture is everything that I know about EVERYTHING. It's everything I love, and it's everything that I am.

I've never set any drop dead date like this before, but this is it.

A Famous Saying "When Your Close To Giving Up Is When Your Just About To Make It." Not Those Exact Words But You Get The Idea.

Rome asked an excellent question...

I'm gon quit right when the regular music industry is going out of the window, and it's about to be a free for all...The Gold Rush of the 1800's. Anybody with a pick axe and a wagon can roll out to Cali and get rich!

Anybody ever put their ABSOLUTE ALL into something?

It's kinda like this. Kobe busted his ass ALL SEASON. Tried this, tried that. Planned and re-planned. He won some, he lost some. And now he's in the finals...

And if it comes down to game 7...3 seconds left...Lakers down by 1, and they inbound that ball to him, and he takes that 15 footer and misses...

He's gonna be sad. He's gonna be pissed. But he's gonna walk away knowing that he left it ALL on the court. He had nothing else to give.

And he's gonna have a feeling of satisfaction. Because even though it didn't end up the way he wanted it to, he's gonna have a feeling of satisfaction that he gave it his EVERYTHING.

And he's gonna enjoy his summer.

I'm the same way.

If I miss this shot, I'm gonna turn and walk off the court, sad but content and relieved.

And I'm gonna go get my life back.

I really don't think most of you understand what kind of sacrifice and commitment chasing this music thing really, truly takes...because the work that about 97% of you are putting in, ISN'T ENOUGH.

Troup, you quite "I'm Tell'n"...lol

PRAY ABOUT IT MAN...Even though I think you might have already.

It never hurts to be honest. I respect that. As you can see your peers are also ur fans... Not an easy feat...

You'll be pleasantly shocked in a few weeks when u get it pop'n...

peace bro...

Lol @ thinking your first placement or venture into music business is going to make you an overnight genius.

We all want to create a legacy or at least the ones who could give a **** about sounding like Toomp and Drumma Boi but when you look at the geniuses like Russel Simmons, Diddy, and Jay it took years to get where they're at and look what they had to go through to get it. Me personally I'd pass on how they got where they are (except Russell though) and find my own lane but these dudes worked HARD!!!

So what you know everything about music, do you apply it? Knowing good music is one thing and being able to create good music music is completely different. You seem to have the passion, but Jordan wasn't the iconic player he is now when he had hair. You have to work your way up.

ps-Don't let Soulja Boi fool you, dude was on myspace and youtube when most of us where at the club, smoking, having sex, sleep, making hot or in some peoples' cases wack beats.

lol. Man I really hope that that wasn't directed at me. I really do. Because if it was, you clearly know NOTHING about me, the time and work that I've put into this thing, the MULTIPLE "almost there's", the successes, the failures, the ups, the downs, the plane rides, the mid-town studio sessions, the monies owed, the meetings, the plane rides, the meetings, the contracts signed...

Man, I could go on and on and on.

But please...don't even insinuate that this is my FIRST venture, and please don't talk to me like I been in this for 6 months.

That would just be an insult of the highest caliber.

Some people are not happy with doing this as a hobby. They spent a lot of money investing in themselves and if a lot of time passes and they are still not receiving the result they desire, then its time to move to something else.

time is money...

sound like Troup quittin' because he mainly in it for da money...

If anything you should use your knowledge and become a manager or work at a Record Label/create your own.

It's not up to him.... he can do everything and anything. And it won't matter. People have gotten on by accident, luck, and chance. Until he gets that he is not in control. And just let it go .....

I really don't know....

Unfortunately, that still means my success hinges on someone elses success.

I've done the label/artist thing already.

If I put out $10,000 in promo for an artists album release, and that artist decides to go MIA when it comes time to finish recording, promote and release the album, I'M SCREWED.

It happened to me already.

And what I'm saying is nothing new to record labels.

Seems like you spent a lot of effort, time and money on creating music. I've listened to your beats and i don't think you have ear to make the type of beats that are amazing. Focus on your career and forget about being a producer.

I also think of it as one of those "what if" situations when you look at the past 30 years from now and wondered what would have happened if you woulda stuck with it.

Now that was a jab..

One thing I learned is not everyone is gonna feel the same way about the beats you make.

It has to do with taste.

I'm sure if Troup was that kind of weak minded individual ... he would have been stop after the first few tries.

But to say he does not have the ear .... I would politely disagree. I'm not saying I felt everything he's done or did not have my own opinions on certain beat, but I could tell he has not been wasting his time.

I dont get what turning down placements can gain you?

You say you wanna be this inspirational role model etc, but how are you gonna do that if nobodys heard of you? Just a bunch of guys on a message board.

All people have talked about, youself included is what happens if this website fails. But what if it takes off? Where do you plan to go from there?

You'd like that.

I'm a producer in the vein of Rick Rubin, Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre. They don't/didn't lay down every track personally, but they damn sure put together some hot records!

I'm not the best musician in the world. The melodies that I create aren't the hottest. My drum sequences aren't the dopest.

But my EAR on how to put music TOGETHER is second to NONE on this site.

I don't care WHO you are.
