Just be sure that your model is bulletproof(!!!) and you will be good if you can market yourself to others...
If people are not sure.. there must be a problem... and in the ned, you are the one to decide...but just keep a cool head in whatever you do, don't get overexcited and don't let the opinion of others (mine included) put yourself down...
but I think you know that..
Good luck in whatever you do... and do not only focus on music...urban music is kinda dying but might come back in another form ( through other entertainment branches or smth)
Ah and i hope you won't have to quit !

if its something that you like to do, I dont think your going to just up and quite just like that..........but.................if you do let me get first dibs on that Open Labs joint....

damn i havent been on FP is a min..

troup has been nuttin but cool wit me so i wish u all the best.. i agree with Rome though on the doing everything yourself thing. i feel like you been way to "closed" with your music. I remember asking you once on a stream if you were going to make a beat and you said no.. i dont make beats live cause i will get jacked.. (and then i see you in other thread s saying "get jacked, request it on the radio and then get paid) meanwhile there mad dudes on streams making beats. and then you say you never collab with any producers or share with them or anything.. i think thats another reason, you should be networking wit people, not shielding yourself from them... people think you come off cocky and ****.

your music isnt bad at all but you so worried about everything else (what someone had to say about you on FP, who gonna jack what, what are people going to think about broadbeats etc..) that you arent focusing on your career. i havent been on FP in a while and im out doin my thing, gettin **** done.. workin wit people and gettin records placed..

just do your thing and make music is what it comes down to... and you got what it takes to do that.

How much will you be selling your keyboard's for?

Seriously. You won't give up music. Its impossible. Since I've bought my bass guitar I've had dreams about bass lines rather than females.

I even catch myself making "mental" beats out of normal ish like the dish washer cycle lol sounding like some ol' Timbo stuff.

Its normal to want to leave something alone that brings you so much joy but leaves you with some much frustration at times. Nobody ever said this ish was gonna easy. Man up boi and keep it moving!!!!!!!!!!!!

this the type of sht that makes people lose insperation...good luck though....

Those chubby dudes at the gym I go to show up to hoop every other day... they know they won't make it to the NBA though.... it's just something like to do... they don't ask for anything back except enjoyment.

Dennis Rodman, Charles Barkley and MJ played, because they liked doing it.

musicians make music, because they like "being in the zone".

salesman sell and project ideas, because that's their kind of drug.

you can make music, "play" while doing it and at the same time, sell a product.
that's a big job. you can make remarkable stuff, push yourself beyond your own limits, reinvent yourself and all that stuff that New Agers try to tell you.

but if you don't enjoy yourself and you got to force it, how can it FELL GOOD?

disclaimer: contains elements which can turn you into an EMO for the next hour or two.

Who cares what happens to another person, that thinking means you dont have it to start with.

Also you cant have inspiration if you cant spell it.ahahahahahahah JK

why are you posting this?

youre setting yourself up for some **** thats way beyond yourself.

i guarrantee you you still have a lot to learn about music that could either enrich or hurt your feelings about it.

how could you base your industrysound website off your career choice of being a producer? they ALMOST have nothing to do with each other.

i think it would be best for your future if you refrain from posting about quitting or failing since it could definitely bite you in the ass..

Jay Z is one.
Bow Wow will be the next (not that he really matters).

Be prosperous young skywalker

Truth of the matter is that I've heard people with better songs, better music than Troup and they are nowhere near where they want to be musically in their life. Troup probably has more contacts, more knowledge then those people I know and he's not where he wants to be either.

Some people are not happy with doing this as a hobby. They spent a lot of money investing in themselves and if a lot of time passes and they are still not receiving the result they desire, then its time to move to something else.

A lot of people approach music from a business stand point. If your business is not doing well at all and its been this way for some time, then it's time to fold and liquidate your assets. If Troup wants to do this as a hobby he can dumb his whole set up down to a regular PC, one monitor, with a midi controller.

Wait .... 19 + 3 = 22

Man Troup .... you look like your in your late 20"s

I'm 24 and I look like a kid ...

I think I'm gonna call it a day with that one

I was thinkin the same thing LOL. I was 2 in 1988, so somebody's lyin, lol. I'm almost positive he meant 13.

Thank the LORD

I was gonna quite producing for a minute!

Well I would not base success of a site on weather to give up or not.

But you are gonna get a lot of views to this thread.

There's something amazing about putting all you are on the line cause you believe in yourself. This is what alot of people feel like right before they realize there greatest accomplishments.

When you open your site man and it becomes a success you'll realize Russell Simmons, Jay Z(right before Reasonable Doubt), even Samuel Jackson was about to stop acting before he landed Pulp Fiction. It's just that mental thing that helps you make sure you covered all bases. I don't have a doubt about your chances for success. Your ideas are great and your execution is noteworthy. Play-on Playa

Yes everyone, I did mean 13 years old. I was born in 77. I'm 32.

Honestly...I'm TIRED. I don't think people realize the work that I've put in.

I been out of college working in corporate america since 2001. I finally decided to chase my music dreams in 2003.

I've done about 8 hours of beats and music related things PER DAY since May of 2003...EVERY DAY.

Monday - Friday, I go to work. I wake up at 7am, and get home at 6pm. Then I make music or do music related things from 7pm to about 2 or 3am. Then i get some sleep, and then do it all over again.

Weekends, I do about 10 hours of music PER DAY.

This has been EVERY WEEK FOR THE PAST 6 YEARS. I'm not even close to lying. The only times I took a break were when my father died back in 2003...I ain't do no beats for about 2 weeks...and then again just his past christmas, I didn't do any tracks for about a month.

I've done it ALL. I've put probably more money and time into this thing than anyone on this board...EXCLUDING NOBODY. My total investment into music has probably been about $50,000 over the past 6 years. Time wise, you can add that up.

Noyzi's post was the realest. I've never been to the point of ALL OR NOTHING. I'm here now. It's a very scary place. But it's also the place where you push yourself the hardest, because you know this time is the very last time...the last chance to get it right.

I know Reasonable Doubt was Jay-Z's ALL OR NOTHING. I know about Just Blaze's story about how he was about to quit when he got the call saying he landed 4 tracks on an album.

But I'm to the point of ALL OR NOTHING. I'm going all in with this one...betting the farm. There's gonna be nothing left in the pot to bet.

It's been a really long, rewarding, tiring journey. And it's all come down to this. Cuz for real, I don't think I have any more to give.

All or Nothing. Right now. There are no do-overs.

dont give up on music but dont make it your main source of income YET....do what you love besides music and do music as like a hobbie or something (you get it) so no matter what if the music dosent work out youll always have something to fall back on

LOL, Troup aint going nowhere! He's just trying to drum up attention for his new site. J's always been a very shrewd marketer. DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE!!

So that's why Reasonable Doubt was good and all of Jay Z's other CD's were crap...

I'm actually dead ass serious. Nobody's ever heard me say anything like this. I'm not the cat to make empty "retirement" promises.

When I say i'm gonna do something, I do it.
