...if IndustrySound.com does not succeed in the way that I want it to.

Yes I said it.

IndustrySound.com is the culmination of 19 years of studying and knowledge of the music industry. I'm a freaking walking encyclopedia of music knowledge and music industry business practices/trends since 1990 (when I was 3).

Money wise, I'm good for about a year of not working. But at some point, I have to say "okay, this isn't working, I need to switch gears to build a true career".

Everybody has that "stopping point". IndustrySound.com is mine.

If it doesn't work, then I'm out the music game. I'll be selling all of my equipment, and it'll be a wrap.

This venture is everything that I know about EVERYTHING. It's everything I love, and it's everything that I am.

I've never set any drop dead date like this before, but this is it.

best of my luck my dude

imo you care about music to much to just "give it up"...

I mean you shouldn't sell your equipment if you enjoy making music....................

Good luck to you, Troup. You're one of the ones I see doing something big. Deadlines tend to make that happen.

Good luck troup. I hope this website succeeds. I hope you will not be giving up on something you love to do. Everyone has dreams, its in your hands.

It's impossible to quit. You won't be able to sell your gear because your conscience won't let you.

I haven't done any serious rapping since 1997... but I still have a mic, mic stand, popper stopper, lol... and I'll probably never rap again but something won't let me sell or give it away... now I use it as a headphone stand but I know it's there so it's always comforting...

People are too hard on themselves... but you have put more energy into music than probably anybody that's been on here. The only fault I saw in your hustle and I'm probably totally off is that it seemed like you wanted to do most of the stuff yourself. The other people that I see posting semi-successful stories... always had other people involved. Whether it be Chase n Cashe and Surf Club, DJ Nice and Cambatta, DJ Cas and YUNG FOKUS, Win TIP and Beat Bangers, Sleep Deez and "guy from BEPs - can't remember his name", ... etc.

From an outsiders perspective.

I'm the same way, I always want the ball and I want to draw up the plays too... probably why I never made strides in the music biz... (I wasn't single either so I like to tell myself that's why I didn't make it, it makes me sleep better at night.)

Chances are that you won't spend as much time chasing the big blow up but you never know what might come along and be exactly what you needed to get where you wanted to go... but if you sell your gear, you won't have anything to make music on... so the opportunity will pass you by.

Look at all of the things that have come about for the independent do it yourselfer... myspace, facebook, PMP, Istandard, Dynamic Producer, FP, online contests, Ustream, Twitter, iTunes,... most weren't even around before 2000, stuff will keep coming up... you're going to quit right when the regular industry way is going out the window... and coming to your house?

Me, I'll just be lurking around waiting, I'm not in a rush, lol.... but when I see something I can jump on... I'm jumpin' on it. I've tried everything everybody else has tried and most of us got the same results... but I still fire up LIVE 8 just to keep in practice...

New dude's ish be crackin' though... I don't have that much time to put into beats... gotta live, do normal things n stuff.

The music ish eats up hella time but I wouldn't quit all the way... there's no reason too... forget the money aspect, there was no money in it when I started so I can't get mad about that now, lol.

I doubt if all of the American Idol contestants quit because they didn't win the show. "My life is over, I didn't win... I'm never singing again..." Nah.

dont give up on music my nigga, u'll prolly go crazy without this outlet, i kno i would. and just a word of advice never put all ya eggs in 1 basket, y just set yaself up for disappointment, u feel me. if it dont work keep it movin and stay makin bangin tracks.

I dont wanna sound stupid but if I had your opportunity I would not even think about quitting be proud of yourself, you brought yourself and achieved something which no1 did so far. and you aint gonna quit because you dont have hope. You eventually will have something in the future but please accept what you have..

Peace..

this is def a good way to build hype. But still best of luck on the bussiness adventure :cheersH

There's something amazing about putting all you are on the line cause you believe in yourself. This is what alot of people feel like right before they realize there greatest accomplishments.

When you open your site man and it becomes a success you'll realize Russell Simmons, Jay Z(right before Reasonable Doubt), even Samuel Jackson was about to stop acting before he landed Pulp Fiction. It's just that mental thing that helps you make sure you covered all bases. I don't have a doubt about your chances for success. Your ideas are great and your execution is noteworthy. Play-on Playa

ole well
If you are selling equipment I might buy some.

I really don't think you should just give up on it altogether AT ALL! If music is something that you really enjoy, then don't just throw it all away like that. Keep your equip. man. Be persistent. Pray as hard as you can on it. It'll work. Best of luck to you. GOD BLESS YOU.

When does IndustrySound.com launch?
I thought the date was June 7.

Those chubby dudes at the gym I go to show up to hoop every other day... they know they won't make it to the NBA though.... it's just something like to do... they don't ask for anything back except enjoyment.
